Elm Park Old Boy
Ian Royal It's patently obvious that Rodgers is a very good manager. It's also patently obvious that he didn't do a good enough job here.

He tried to do too much too quickly, without any appreciation that he needed to keep an eye out for the trap door opening below us. He was too rigid and uncompromising in his approach to start with and his recovery was a little too late and a little too unconvincing. He was also generally not really very likable in personality when following Coppell.

It's also obvious McDermott is a good manager and did a good job here. But that his experience, style and skills were lacking when it came to a weaker side playing with the big boys (Hardly surprising for a man in his first 'professional' managerial job). There's just only so far that organisation and self-belief can take a decent group of players. Especially when that self-belief is being eroded by losing so many games and playing against people way better than them every week.

It's also obvious that Adkins is a good manager, but who happens to be struggling a bit at the moment.

Hey, you know you'll only get in trouble writing such patent good sense on here?

That post was spot on, Ian

Not looking good for Brian at Leeds.

Hopefully he can turn it around like Adkins has.

I find this mildly upsetting.

Can we have him back as chief scout please?

Genuinely gutted for the bloke. What has happened at Leeds is pretty shite.

Shame. Although I don't think he particularly liked the club. He'll get another job no problem, hopefully one that will match his personality more. He was always too good for that job...

So quite a few of us have been proven right when we said that Leeds was the wrong club for Brian and that he wouldn't last a season.

A great pity but I'm sure he will be snapped up by someone who will appreciate him more.

And that doesn't mean I think we were wrong to get rid of him.

The gossip on the Leeds MOT forum seems to be that MaccyD got the boot by GFH for being forthright in his view about the crooked Italian and his 'Boro stooge poking their noses in over the past week.

More interestingly, Ross McCormack has said in the last 30 minutes that he only agreed to stay with Leeds while MaccyD was manager and, apparently, GFH has accepted a 5.6 million bid from Cardiff to pay of their loan of the past few months that have paid players wages.

Leeds - utter laughing stock. Feel sorry for Uncle Fester, though.

Owen Coyle doing his best to find him a new job, too, while MaccyD also brought in the LMA yesterday of his treatment.

Nearly as embarrassing as Reading sacking Brendan Rodgers so soon. Look at him now.
