Millsy Excellent reporting from Benjy on the Chronicle website for anyone who wants to see what went down.

He let himself down a bit this evening. Blocked a former player for daring to question his reporting of the pitch invasion. Subsequently apologised.

Former player  The bloke went to a soccer school once and lauds it over everyone

Literally was in the first team squad for a season. Do your research.

Branfoot Out
The Cap One of my main recollections was when quite a few of us went on the pitch at Elm Park having been trounced by Palarse, 6-0/6-1, something like that. Johnny Mad took the mike and promised us the world. And to be fair, compared to what we've got now, the bloke did alright

6-1 loss home to Palace - Sep 1996. Big pitch invasion to get Quinn and Gooding out. Uri Geller came out in the main stand to try and calm everyone down!

So why wasn’t there a big pitch invasion after the Fulham game? There really should have been a spontaneous uprising and refusal to leave until someone from the club came down to speak to them, just as there was at that Palace game, the Port Vale game the next season and I think after the Notts County 3-1 loss in 1988/9. Perhaps that should be the next protest and maybe set up a car park encampment a la Greenham Common.

Imagine mocking someone who was a pro footballer.

Imagine thinking you should be immune from mockery for making it through a football academy.

Is it true that for a pitch invasion the club gets fined?

How would the cost of the fine compare to paying off the management team?

Surely after a few invasions the penny will drop that it would be cheaper to sack Pauno.

Yeah, can vary. Hardly threatening behaviour. I can think of some clubs who's fans would have lynched their manager with this guy's record.
Just as a side note. Could he not be paid off in a "deferred payment" manner. A lot of transfers are done like that. Just wondering. Derby clearly operated this way in an "out of control" manner, but then many clubs do.

Not if its like yesterday's one. The protest can't be static outside the club shop, it has to be on the move and cause inconvenience for the club to some degree. If it is a properly organised and effective one then I'm all for it.

How about you stop telling other people whats wrong with their protest and start organising something you approve of bigshot?

Not my place to, there are people with far more influence than me who should be organising it.

Why don't you go to games before criticising the manager or players? Why don't you go in to training and explain what they are doing wrong?

We can all comment on things we can see are wrong, you don't have to be physically involved to do so.

Keep going guys, good job.

Any protest is better than none at all.

Mustn't lose the momentum now.

There's not a single, simple entity like "the club" to get any message.

There are various individuals, and you can be sure as hell that they do get the message and they do understand the situation - but they disagree with what the solution is.

And what they see as a bunch of kids making a public nuisance and bringing in bad publicity sure isn't going to change their minds. these people are powerful, arrogant and used to getting their own way. Why would they change now?
