My son is at Sheffield Uni and confirms just how heavy the snow is, as per the previous local posters. Not much chance of the game going ahead.

Yeah apparently Sheffield Hallam uni was only one of two to be shut today. Lincoln being the other 8)

Couldn't go on Saturday - so I would be delighted with a postponement. I suspect I'm in the minority though.

I'm in Sheffield this weekend, to see a friend who goes uni but also because of the match, will be waiting to pay on the day because of the weather. So hope the game is on, haven't been to an away game since Liverpool in January!

RichieBowman I live on the Derbyshire side of the Peak District and weather looks bad for tomorrow and Friday. Gutted if it is called off as only half an hour on train to Sheff.

I did not realise there were so many Reading fans in Derbyshire. Anyone from around Buxton/ High Peak ?

My dad is in Clay Cross near Chesterfield. I know a Reading fan who works in Buxton, but lives in Belper - near where I used to live!

3vees is in Ashbourne.

I looks like a check on the OS is needed on Sat Morning then to prevent supporters making that journey. If i did go it would need to be POTD anyhow.

Do you only go to games in the snow?

Its up to knees on the south coast and I know Haywards Heath is even worse as they had an extra day of it. Can't get hold of anyone in my office to get work sent over like I'm supposed to

90% not going to happen - text from club to say the Blades are in discussion with the FL and the game is in serious doubt.

This 20 mins after a text saying SU said they are confident it would go ahead!!!!!!!!!

Family live about 15 miles outside of sheffield and the snow is mental there. If it was down south it'd be biblical! A good 10 inches if not more. The surrounding areas will be the major issue and as sheffield is a hilly city i cant see it going ahead even with a thaw predicted for the weekend

I pay per quarter for these things, really just for the scores....but if I paid per text some of the sh1t that is deemed news/textworthy I would not be a happy man!!!!

I signed up years ago and was paying per text. We won 4-0 the day I signed up and I got about 10 texts through. Cancelled it after that.
