I think Friday may have done some serious damage when he kicked Lawro in the head.

a goal that they felt was offside

cock

its offside. nothing to do with our feelings

Not just that, he also said:

Lawro but then you also have to remember that their goalkeeper Adam Federici has thrown two goals in his net in two games,

The issue I have is the word "thrown" - that's actually factually incorrect. He did not throw the ball in on either occasion, he allowed them in.

Kingsley Junior http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19326517

Lawro Sunderland v Reading
They give lots of opportunities to the opposition....
Prediction: 2-1

He was spot on with the score v Stoke so hoping he is off this time - don't want a defeat on Saturday, thanks.

He's wrong about this part too. Stoke had 3 shots on target, the champions of Europe had 5. Hardly giving lots of opportunites away. He talks rubbish, the cock. Get him off our TVs and radios BBC!

The BBC getting rid of him would be a personal attack on the country of Liverpool

agreed, his best quote for explaining why West Ham were not near Reading and Southampton at the top was because they didnt have a 20 goal striker - erm, lawro!! (for lawro - neither did Reading dumb arse)

or that west hame would beat reading at home easily - erm, lawro! - this after we easily beat them 3-0 at home

Stuboo He has to get it right sometimes I guess, but last season Lawro's predictions were consistantly appalling. Anyway, I was pleased to see he wasn't on MOTD tonight.

Nah, he makes money consistently.

He was way down the list on his own prediction league on the BBC website last season, being beaten by such well known football people as Tinchy Strider, Russell Grant and Ola Jordan from Strictly Come Dancing. Here it is:

Yeah, but each of them only get one go.

Can't believe I'm defending Lawro. He's totally wrong about us giving loads of chances away, that's a fairly typical example of his shitness. He's just looked at goals conceeded and assumed we give loads of chances away, when three wouldn't have been scored in "normal" circumstances and a fourth was from poor officiating.

That's true, but he's still a nob.

Arnie_Pie Lawro can go and suck my fat one. Keep predicting us to lose and we will prove him wrong. Again.

What do you mean "keep"? so far he has predicted one 1-1 draw.

Last time we were in the Premiership.

floyd__streete Oh look, Reading fans getting affronted for no reason whatsoever.

Lawro doesn’t like us? I am sure he doesn’t care one iota either way. The Robin Friday incident – if it is even true – occurred when he played for CARDIFF remember.

And tbh, given that he is a UNBIASED observer - unlike us lot - he isn't being totally unfair in questioning our 'keeper and that we have been punished for naive mistakes. Not sure I agree with the part about us conceding loads of chances, mind.

You have to laugh at him voicing concerning about us not having a win yet.

It's not worth getting bothered about though. Lawro is the classic lazy pundit who equates quality with players he's heard of. If you don't have those, you don't have quality.

How does anyone equate quality with players he hasn't heard of?

Lawro's problem is that he knows only a little and is too oxf*rd lazy to find out more.

Hadn't previously click this thread, but I see it's full of the usual shit directed his way because he doesn't predict that one of the weaker teams in the division won't win a game.

You can't, but by the same measure, it's pretty stupid to claim that players you haven't heard of "lack quality"

Lawro's problem is that he knows only a little and is too oxf*rd lazy to find out more.

That's kind of the point. British tv sports "experts" are lazy and think being outspoken is more important than actually having knowledge. Someone who took the job seriously would actually try to find out about players so they could genuinely offer an expert insight. Instead pundits here just fester in a state of comfy ignorance.

It's a figure of speech, it's not meant literally. It's just a way of saying it was a very poor goal to let in and it was totally the keeper's fault.

I don't think it's a case of vendetta, but it's hard to see what he got right in his summary.

Having said that, not sure we can keep excusing Fed's f/ck ups as abnormal circumstance. 3 of the 5 goals conceded have been his fault entirely and it's only been two games. You could say statistically so far, it's pretty normal behaviour for him!
