Man Friday
ManchesterRoyals Brian thought they were good enough, blame him

Under Brian, they almost were. Now they look like League 2 players (at best).

Rofl, yeah they were sooo much worse against Southampton than against Villa and Wigan.

Such small margins, though. ALF puts his early chance under - rather than over - the bar, the ref gives a penalty when HRK goes over and it's a completely different match.

For a period of about 10 minutes we were all over Southampton but we didn't score. If we had then suddenly instead of "look[ing] like League 2 players" then they've had been world-beaters and the on-going "Adkins Miracle" would be all that people would be talking about on here.

they had better players, we had better spirit and heart.
spirit and heart doesnt get you anywhere in the prem. but better players can do.

If we could find better players who also had spirit and heart (qv Guthrie) then we'd be laughing.

i was on the verge of calling brian a charlatan after the first 30 minutes. thought we looked so much better than saints, and our terrible players all suddenly looked brilliant.

Kebe is our Messi
blueroyals See the Loic Remy goal vs. Wigan for an example of why you need to spend fukking money to stay in this league. Would like to see one of our 'strikers' do that. Would like to see anybody in League Two do that. Massive LOL @ whoever it was at the club that thought buying L1/L2 players would keep us in the PL. Massive

How can they get it so wrong twice in the space of 5 years?

Whilst I agree, but doesnt Remy play for a team thats on the brink of relegation with us?

I think this whole season has been a complete waste. We try 4 years to get back up but then waste it by not investing. Only reading.

I like the look of Blackman, but v Villa showed himself to be raw and not the finished article like Remy. The biggest difference to me is the quality of the finishing. In the PL, theres no need to commit so many players forward to make so many chances. Teams are like Great White Sharks, they circle around you and then suddenly rush for the bite and make the kill.

Our style is so honed to the Championship, conceeding tens of chances per game but attacking with momentum and numbers, that we are never going to win enough games.

If you can have players like Ba, Benteke, Remy, that Fulham bloke who scored off the bench v us, your whole team shape can change behind them and play a more controlled game.

But is Remy the exceptional that proves the rule? You don't want to go down with players like him on your wagebill! A more gradual evolution is needed!

And didnt Morisson, Le Fondre and Akpan all have decent chances?!
