Winchester Royal Sa is the first player with only two letters in his name to score a hat-trick for Reading.

Technically his surname is 'Braga de Sa'

Question for Strap perhaps - any list of previous Reading players to have scored hat-tricks?

Lets not be lazy, let's see how many we can name.

I'll start, in reverse order (before the Derby game) we have:

1. Orlando Sa
2. Adam Le Fondre

Someone else can do the rest.

How far do you want to go back ?

Senior, Dixon, Alexander, Murray (John variety, not Scott - and by coincidence in the same game as Friday's goal as attended by most of the world's population)

I remember Jamie Cureton scoring one against Brentford, and another against Oldham a week or so later.

Maurice Edelston certainly grabbed 3 on a few occasions and there was Jack Palethorpe many years before him.

Brentford in September 2000 and Luton in December, but not Oldham

Mr Optimist Ok, I'll say it,Ireland is not part of the British Isles. It is Ireland.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Isles

The Irish hate the fact, however, "The British Isles are a group of islands off the north-western coast of continental Europe that consist of the islands of Great Britain, Ireland and over six thousand smaller isles.[6] Two sovereign states are located on the islands: Ireland (a republic which covers roughly five-sixths of the island with the same name)[7] and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (which includes the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). The British Isles also include three dependencies of the British Crown: the Isle of Man and, by tradition, the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, although the latter are not physically a part of the archipelago.[8][9].

Was staggered to learn that there are over 6,000 islands forming the British Isles!

Those 6000 islands probably includes places like Rockall.

JC Royals record shows leading goalscorers with number of hat tricks shown. Ron Blackman managed 11

Ron Blackman 11
Les Chappell and Trevor Senior 7
Tony MacPhee and Jack Palethorpe 6
Joe Bailey (incl 2 in SL), Tommy Dixon, Thomas Tait, Douggie Webb and Jimmy Wheeler 4 each
Hugh Davey, Kerry Dixon, Nicky FOrster, Dick Habbin, Bill Johnstone, Dave Kitson, James LIddle and Denis Uphill 3 each,
then 15 more with 2 and 39 others with just the one each.

I haven't finished inputting SL data yet, so there may be a few more to come.

Aside from Sa and Lovell, I can't find any other hat-trick for RFC by someone outside the British Isles. Although Leroy Lita was born in Zaire, his official football nationality is England, and he played for the U21's 9 times scoring 6 goals.

He's now playing for Athlitikos Omilos Chania in Greece. They are currently 4th in the Greek 2nd division and have a ground capacity of 4000. Bit of a come down for our 1st million pound man.
