Well, having been there among the 50,000 *that* night against Tranmere - and almost right in front of God Friday when he took it on his chest, turned and volleyed all in one movement from 35 yards - I hate to piss on the fireworks but Blackman's wasn't *that* good..... decent finish, though.

Ahhh. so not a volley as it sounded from Dellor and Quinn.

Half volley I suppose, balls not on the ground

Obviously not a volley or half volley, it's just a bouncing ball.

half-volley
noun
(chiefly in tennis or soccer) a strike or kick of the ball made immediately after it bounces off the ground.

I always thought a half volley was after bouncing once or possibly as it's landing, not just in the air. TBF I was more busy just trying to be able to kick the thing than worrying about whether it was a volley, half volley, bouncing, bobbling or just plain on the ground.

Rotherham have had three shots on target... doesn't that mean they're guaranteed a goal if they can just get one more On.

Better score another Royals.

I don't think two bounces counts as a half volley.

Is a quarter volley anything like a half assist? Snowball?

That goal so reminds me of when Forster was in his heyday for us, one touch, BANG!!

Not as good as that Friday goal obviously but a cracker all the same.

It's a belter, but I feel miffed at having my expectations raised to something like Quinn's juggle and volley against Wolves in ~96 or 97, but with just the one touch first.

Agreed, i had some sort of minor version of Gazza's goal against Scotland in '96 in my head.

Let's be honest, apart from two pieces of Blackman magic we've been shit the last two games. It's been coming...
