Agree with Andrew, I'd give the window on evidence to date 6 to 7 out of 10.

Williams - excellent
Lane, Doyle, Danny K - good (Danny K reminds me of an early Gilkes, potential who with coaching will improve)
Burn, Fraser, Stevens - OK - and will prob be squad players (including Burn when O'Connor fit)
Jacob, MOM - not convinced yet
O'Connor, Marriott & Ritchie - no rating , but on paper look amongst the better signings.

I agree with the general assessment, though I think it’s a bit on the generous side.

To me, the inexperience of our team has really shown in this window. Even with the excellent Carney (who cant be expected to always produce miracles) helping, the recent video made them look a little naïve, almost surprised at just how tough recruitment can be. Reading between the lines, it feels like they’ve been outmanoeuvred by more streetwise agents and negotiators.

Nobody’s saying we should be throwing money around carelessly, but that makes it even more important to spend the limited budget wisely.

Their enthusiasm and energy aren’t in doubt, but the learning curve has come at the cost of a vital window. If you swapped Hunt and JJ for the likes of Warnock and Hammond, would the outcome have been the same? Personally, I don’t think so.

Hunt may not even get the chance to apply what he’s learned this summer, while JJ has to adapt quickly because right now, we’re already behind where we should be.

On the goals, I think people are overlooking goals in the players we've brought in, just because they're spread a bit wider.

Lane got almost as many goals in his last L1 season as Knibbs did last season.

We've exchanged Smith and Wareham for MOM and Marriott, the pair should be able to manage half a dozen each. It’s not like Smith was prolific.

That leaves a couple for Knibbs, a couple for Wareham and a few for Campbell.

Which we can likely get from across Kyerewaa, Doyle and Fraser.

Ehibhatiomhan has scored more in the past than he did last season and we should be expecting him to player a bigger part with more goals. Camara should be expected to get more.

Wing has already started stronger on the goal front.

Snowflake Royal It's almost like people who weren't keen on Couhig taking over are deliberately taking one word out of context and ignoring almost everything else said to use it as a stick to beat the new owners with.

Why is this one word more important than everything else said? Why are they not slavishly repeating self-funding? Or frees and loans?

Because it's not really about what expectations the club has set, it's about having something to complain about and not getting the moon on a stick.

It is not about one word out of context.

The context was, that in the lead up to the season starting, there were waves of positivity flowing from Dedwood. The moment the season had started and the season tickets tailed off, there were waves of poverty. As soon as the disappointing window comes to an end, I expect the latest spin is about how difficult it was to get good players in.

Never listen to what they are saying to you. Listen to why they are saying it. Always follow the money.

Is this meant to sound profound? Because, basically, salesmen are trying to sell you stuff - this is not a remarkable observation.

Do you also write angry letters to the ASA when your brand of deodorant doesn’t in fact change your life?
