Mid Sussex Royal IF you have good quality AM's you don't necessarily need a decent centre forward, look at what Pep did pre Haaland

Wasn't it Spain that made the "False Nine" a legit formation and did very well with it. No striker as such just three attacking midfielders i believe.

Yes, because we're easily good enough to mimic the technical and tactical excellence of the Spanish national team and Man Citeh.

To be fair, the W-M formation was good enough for the Arse in the 1930s, so we could probably still win the league doing that too.

Had to make do with Sergio Aguero. Don’t know how he managed to be honest ;-)

“Abrefa outstanding” Lololol. The whole team were hopeless against Pompey, including Abrefa. Also looked on the Huddersfield forum and a Lincoln poster also suggested both fullbacks were dogsh#t and that Huddersfield’s wingers would have a great time against them.

I don't care what some random Lincoln troll says on a Huddersfield forum. I watched the game and Abrefa was excellent. And you only have to read the Lincoln thread on here to see that was the consensus.

Defensively he was excellent. His distribution was the only thing that let him down.

Didn’t cover himself in glory for Lincoln’s second

In saying that, would probably think it’s more an issue with the tactics we employed as opposed to Abrefa himself. Certainly got to work on his crossing though as some of his deliveries were poor

It was Stickland's man for the 2nd.

Line up in;

Pereira
Abrefa Stickland Burns Jacob
Wing Fraser Savage
Lane O'Mahony Kyerewaa

Bench: Stevens, Elliott, Ehibhatiomhan, Camara, Garcia, Doyle, Ahmed

That bench shows we're getting there. Still light at CF and CB, but genuine options to change the game on there.

Hope we see Wing higher up the field with Fraser in. Also noted Dorsett not on bench - injured again?

Ok with that side. Think Fraser will make us a better side

Would presume Elliott is having his minutes managed following his big injury and Doyle is brand new so won't start.

Midfield 3 feels solid but maybe lacks the inventiveness of those two. But great bench options.

Quite surprised by that line up with both Elliott and Ehibhatiomhan out. Especially with Kyerewaa starting.

Be very interesting to see if Wing still sits deep or pushes forward with Fraser behind. My guess is the former.

Don't expect a win. We're rebuilding and doign a great job.

Proud of the lads whatever they do today, it's a work in progress.

Come on boys!

I read it as a 433, with Fraser sitting. Savage box to box and Wing the more attacking of the three.

Be interesting to see how it plays out. Kyerewaa starting over Kelvin E is a surprise. DK must have shown a lot in training.

Kyerewaa more suited to central role than WiFi so unsurprising to see that change.

Have to hope Burns and Stickers don't get injured...who comes on in that scenario.....and we cannot risk either in the cup in midweek so that will be interesting given Dorsett won't be allowed to play until next Sat.

That makes zero sense given Kelvin was playing LW and so will Kyerewaa.

@Estaban think Fraser came into Elliott's position against Lincoln
Which is what I expect him to do today.

Much as many of us want to see Wing further forward, I just don’t think that's how we're set up to use him, and him dictating from deep is key to the way Noel wants to play.

I look forward to finding.out that's horsehit.

Kyerewaa looks pretty erratic but positive at least. We've had so many wingers who take it safe and pass backwards or sideways. He's run at a few players to no avail so far, but you'd hope if he keeps trying something will come off.

I like him. He seems very promising.
