We were in row 15, almost looking at the pitch level, at the Madstad row 15 is above the disabled sections, very disappointed with the ground, looks like it has been designed for standing at that angle, for the second half the Arsenal fans stood at times of excitement so the Reading fans had to as well.

davis69 not help the idiots telling people to sit down how else are you going to get behind the team

Perhaps they were telling you to sit down cos when you stood up they couldn't see. And if you can't see, its difficult to get behind your team.

It was a brand new stadium with perfect views. There was no need to stand up. People who stand without considering those sat behind them are thoughtless idiots and a right pain in the rear end.

perfect views my fcuking arse you get a better view at the mad stad

Yep, agree with Eastender Marky. If you had over 600 points there is no excuse for not getting a ticket.

I have to say that I was sat beside the MOST annoying, the WORST, the most incredibly annoying person you could ever dream of having the misfortune to sit next to.

I really want to exagerrate this, but it's simply impossible. Here is my match review (well commentary from the-prick next to me:

KICK OFF
"he's just too slow"
"this is embarrassing"
"why do I bother going to games anymore"
"keep running then"

MINUTE 1
"That's it, we might as well give up - we'll NEVER win if we play like this"
"c'mon this is shit"

Minute 2
..... etc..

I swear, it was like this for the entire match, ALL OF it. It was probably by far the least enjoyable match for this reason. I spent more effor trying to block this guy out and keep calm than enjoying the match or cheering the team on.

Oh, if this wasn't enough, people in front stood up, so I did, then oxf*rd behind kept poking me and saying "do you have to stand up?"

Oh, and a chant of "STAND UP FOR STEVE COPPELL" starts after the first goal, and the guy behind says "oh no...." as everyone starts standing up.

oxf*rd

Huntley & Palmer Biggest bunch of non away game going fans I have seen since Arsenal last season. You really have to wonder how these people get tickets when thousands of people with just under 600 points missed out, I mean there were three people sat next to me in their early 40's that didn't do anything all game. Nothing, just sat there. I just can't understand that at away games, as it was we did make a good noise in parts though I lost the plot with a oxf*rd behind me that started singing "10 German bombers in the air"

Which is why I can't be arsed to do the "glamour" games.

West Ham and Fulham were outstanding days out, and I think Spurs and Charlton will be aswell (not to mention Notlob and Blackburn.

(BTW, wrong thread, but it's no coincidence that West Ham and Fulham were great fun, and everyone stood....)

percy_freeman Fans today...............
Crap, didn't sing. biggest bunch of plastic away fans we've ever had!

What the fcuk did the team give us to support ? We only started attacking in the last 10 mins !!!

The last 2 away league games have been a waste of time and money.

Fair play. Wasn't lucky enough to go to Boro but Arsenal was a good day out.

I was in the Arsenal end for this game as couldn't get a ticket in the Reading section. I was the same end of the ground as the Reading fans, but behind the goal to the left.

From this perspective I can report that Reading fans were very quiet, pretty much all sat down, and generally not that impressive at all.

I thought the atmosphere at the Emirates was better than I expected, and certainly better than Highbury. You can tell that for a big game the noise would really sweep around the stadium.

Fact--the tickets went on sale on Monday 19 Feb. Although having 610 points the earliest I could attempt to get a ticket was Tuesday 20 Feb. I arrived at the main ticket office at 10.30 to be greeted by a long queue--it transpired later that most were queuing for Man Utd replay tickets. When I eventually reached the ticket counter I was told the Arsenal allocation had been sold out. It was impossible to get through on the phone or internet so if I could have done any better, please do let me know!!

Yep totally agree.

Total numpty's that do not SUPPORT, sometimes I feel embarrassed to associate myself with this type of SUPPORTER.

I do believe that all are entitled to an opinion BUT FFS its arguably our best season in the clubs history and people are still MOANING.

I would say to these people take a good long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are SUPPORTING the right club.

Sure Boro and Arsenal were not the best of games but ask the players would they rather have No 13 on their side or on their backs if they are not performing and which answer do they think would give them added confidence and make them want to try harder.

I suspect POSITIVE support would be the answer to the question possed.

FFS get behind YOUR team and please do NOT assume that when you air your negative views at matches that others want to hear them cos I personally do not.

Hope to see all you doubting Thomas's at Bolton.

As has been pointed out below, you were in the top bracket and sales made the second day as well before selling out before 12pm. You can't buy away tickets online either so me thinks you are just moaning on the basis that you cocked up

I was in the same area too and for the first game in a long long while Royals fans were less than impressive. Unlike the stadium which was superb. From the Club level where I was you can walk all the way around the ground looking out onto the pitch and can stop at any one of about six bars and lounges And at half time you get free beer!
And I also agree about the atmosphere - the acoustics were excellent and the sound seemed to build up and go right round the stadium
Good day out but shame about the performance, of team and fans
