Supporters always love 100%ers and will overlook their deficiencies as they fight for the cause.

Gunny Fishcake I was there for his debut , years ago , can't remember when on a freezing pissing down cold night at Gigg Lane Bury , he had a fantastic game and I thought was destined for a great career , sadly not to be . Always gave his best and you can't ask for any more .

I was there too, though I hadn't realised it was his debut. All I really remember was that it really pissed down and Curo and Butler scored.

I liked Mackie, but always thought his temperament was questionable, he was a bit easily wound up into doing something rash.

Sadly it wouldn't. Adie Williams only got a smattering of applause last week. Given that at least 12,000 people int he stadium won't have a clue who John Mackie is, I don't hold out much hope.

Anyway, I claimed a spotted for John Mackie many years ago. He was in the bar at Ramada at 5pm on a Tuesday evening and was on the shorts. Top man.

Apart from a brief spell I thought he was pretty crap, and a headcase as well, but there you go; I see he's been elevated to legend status now. What a joke.
