I had no real opinion on him to start with... I was falling into the anti pary simply through not really seeing anything of him.

Then I remember seeing him against Norwich standing right at the fron on the right hand side of the South Bank. I remember him being the only bright spark in a poor performance. From then on I was quite a fan. And his squad photos were always hilarious.

I used to like the way his curly locks would dance in the wind.

How very dare you! I liked the old huffer and puffer.

I say again, it was his cross which Adie turned in against Wolves and he also scored that game = Meaker legend.

Yay The Meaks.

I hope he turns out to be a great player for us, it'll be one-in-the-eye for those who were too quick to write off the speedy but laconic winger.
Even if he turns out dependable, well that's good too.

Only at Reading FC is it seemingly more important to have pace than ability

he appears to have more than a little ability also

your continued refusal to see it, really isnt helping your argument

I congratulated him on his lively performance against Palace on another thread but I still think that his end product is a bit hopeless at the moment to be honest.

Haven't been to any games this year (for my sins  ) but was wondering if any songs have been sung for Kebe yet?

I am for the 'Run, run, run, run Kebe!' as it is simple, sounds cool and has a tradition within the club.

This hero worship of a non-footballer is nauseating. OK, he runs fast. So bloody what? Running fast without the ball is a somewhat pointless in a game of football.

He only runs fast when he's running towards the opposition goal, he spends the rest of his time jogging around aimlessly. The Palace game was typical. No tracking backwards, no marking of Palace players when they were on the attack, no using his "lighting pace" off the ball into space creating passing opportunities for his team mates. His crossing is woeful, and apart from a couple of twinkle-toe movements with the ball (e.g. for his "goal"), there is scant skill on evidence to suggest he is any more a Premiership footballer than you or I !!!!!

I put it to you that there was a very good reason why he was on loan at a 2nd Divisions French club when we signed him - he's crap.

At age 24 he MIGHT have time to develop some rudimentary football skills to add to his "lightning pace", but given the "progress" Shane Long has made in 3 years under the tutelege of RFC I have grave doubts.
