Parish said: “There’s certain things in there [the loan deal] that I wouldn’t want to comment on,” said Parish.
“It’s all up in the air - but he has definitely not signed for Reading.”

retro royal CRYSTAL Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has said that there is no deal in place for Glenn Murray to join Reading on a permanent deal in January.
The striker has scored three goals in six outings for the Royals.
Murray's loan now has the option of a Palace recall but he is due to stay in Berkshire until the start of January.
Palace have covered his exit by bringing in Kevin Doyle on loan from Wolves and also handing Andrew Johnson a short-term deal.

What an utterly pointless clause. Murray Isn't named in their 25 man squad and they can't change that until January. So they can recall him but they can't play him. The whole article still sounds like Steve Parrish talking out of his arse on a slow news day or retro talking out of his arse on a slow brain day.

Royalwaster Yep and you wouldn't activate a buy clause in the middle of a loan ... you'd do so at the end, so it's the biggest non-story ever.

Surely it means he could be recalled 1 week from the end of his loan period before any permanent contract clause came into play?

The direct quote does not say what the article attributes it to say. We know he hasn't signed for Reading yet, he's on loan. That doesn't preclude the deal to sign him in January already being in place. I've never said anything about recall options.
Apology accepted E-Po

RoyalBlue I suspect that your wait for that apology may be as long as our wait for Hammond and co to sign a proven goalscorer at Championship level on a permanent contract!

3points Will Murray still want to stay come January? Given the goals he's scoring, I'm sure another team would snap him up if he's still surplus to requirements at Palace
