SBWD have already proven they can't organise a piss up in a Brewery. Might as well tell people to go freestyle.

Good proposed solution too. A lot of angst, myself included at times, is "Why can't the EFL do something?" or "How did they allow this to happen?", but they really are powerless. They need to be given the powers to force owners like Dai out.

Yep good article and whilst it was probably planned after the latest deduction, the more visible protests like Saturday's can only increase the visibility of our current plight.

Tennis balls back on for Sat, 16th min. Just hope we're not defending a corner.

If wages aren't paid on Friday need to look at more, we carried a coffin draped with scarves from town when Maxwell was kicking off.

The problem is a lot of our fans kick up more of a stink about the fans protesting, than they do about Dai destroying our club.

Personally, I’d go the way of the Ajax fans, but accept there would be consequences. I wish we could get 10,000 plus fans to march from the town centre to the stadium.

A march is being planned for the Pompey game.

So here are my thoughts on reforms that should happen in football. A governing body should be given the power to take control of a club (possibly following a court order) in situations like ours. That governing body then appoints an entity to run the club and arrange the sale of the club, for an independently set price, to a new owners. The current owner has no say in any of this and has to abide by the ruling.

Ponts deductions, embargoes, etc, punish the wrong people so this way the owner is removed from power and he alone is punished.

It would never happen, but if owners know this is the potential outcome they might take it a bit more seriously.

Another ption is a rule whereby every club has to deposit the annual wage bill (or significant portion of it) into an account at the start of the season from which wages are paid. Failure to do so results in suspension from the league.

Drastic maybe, but some serious reforms are required.

This is one of the powers that the independent regulator is meant to have, they in effect have a licensing regime for clubs.

Their powers sit alongside existing sanctions held by the EFL, Premier League etc re: ffp compliance, deductions for HMRC, non payment of wages etc, but focused towards the ownership and governance side.

It's an interesting, but long, read.

I'd rather it was as the teams were lining up to kick off first or second half, or as the whistle goes at HT.

But fair enough.

Some fans will have a go no matter what. I remember one furious guy going off at me and a few others at Norwich because we had some inflatables on inflatables day.

He seemed to be trying to say it was our fault we were going to lose. He was practically frothing at the mouth. I think we won in the end
