edinburghroyal McAnuff should just leave... Just give the bloody armband to Pearce!

To be honest, right now, I would even prefer the return of Brian Howard!

Go on, give us a hint. Just how stupid are you feeling right now?

CountryRoyal I can see why Legs of wood is back because Carrico is so out of match practice its untrue... but keeping on Jobi instead of Karacan?

I really hope we don't find ourselves chasing the game with 30 minutes to go as we have no attacking options on the bench.

Every little bit helps-and that bit of luck that you were on about the other week seems to have come our way with Lukaku twice hitting the woodwork last week and Alf getting a helping hand with his first goal yesterday.
But for those bits of luck we would be rock bottom so Brian keep on kissing the Blarney Stone and jonboy keep switching the radio off.
For the WBA game I wore my big coat for the first time this season so I had better carry on wearing it come rain or shine like Mr Black.

Looking back on any season you could always say the same thing and given how we lost points at Chelsea and Man City plus Newcastle's hand of god in the corresponding fixture, I suspect Brian's still owed more than he's received in this respect.

On watching SKY's 90min re-run, there was a 2 minute section that some summed up what we are up against this season.

McAnuff makes a break and is pulled up for offside when he was on, then, straight down the other end Federici has to pull off a good save to a player who was offside.

Unless this twat of a ref is getting through life with half a brain, he rocked up yesterday in the full knowledge that his incompetence cost us 3pts at the Mad Stad yet most of the benefit of the doubt still seemed to go against us.

I think all fans of all clubs (apart from Man Utd) feel that refereeing decisions always go against their team.

Woodcote, you're aware that it's not the referee that gives offside decisions right? I mean you've been watching football for decades, so you should probably have been able to work that one out by now.

What about Pog's tumble in the 2nd half? Deliberately put his leg out to the right as he was running so he could take a sprawl - could have resulted in Williamson being sent off. The Newcastle player was rightly incensed. I don't like that shit, whoever's doing it. At which point the commentator said that Pardew had mentioned that Pog had the most diving antics of any player he had ever seen. (OWTTE)

If you spent less time making thousands of pointless posts of your own, you might realise that the contributions of others are less simplistic than you imagine.

Yes excpet in the case of the 'small clubs' they definitely do. We might get the odd decision but these are far outweighed by the decisions that go against them.

Back from the match - my view before I read anyone else's ....

Jimmy MotM - so much defensive work as well as creative runs, passes and the assists. A couple of limp crosses, but each time he got the ball something looked on. 9

Pearce - back to his inspirational self, up for it right from the warm-up. 9

Jobie - looking like he wanted the ball all the time and workrate back up to previous expectations in the central role. 9

ALF - What can you say ? Striker - does what it says on the tin. 10
Feds - again, what can you say ? Keeper - saved us many times. 10

Legs - a couple of duff passes and challenges, but a rock in being where he needed to be to break them up and win posession for 90 mins. 8

Mariappa - looking solid alongside Pearce. 8
Kelly - impressive debut. 8
Harte - the old fella still does his job. 7
McCleary - ultimately not effective with many crosses, but kept their defence busy. 7
Guthrie - strong and effective - unlucky to be the one to make way for ALF, 7
but that was because
Pog - was doing the centre-forward job - winning the high balls, scaring their defence, came close. 7
Akpan - lively and strong debut. The scuffed shot sure, but several intercepts to win posession where it mattered. 7

Thought the team looked like a team, all wanted to be there, and the game plan seemed to work. Rode our luck a little with their shots that Feds was able to save - could have been different on a different day. Their crowd got on Pards back. Right result. Great to be there. (Baggies almost did it for us too.)
