Once were Biscuitmen
We've spent the majority of our existence in the third tier but been cursed with recent success which means the expectations of some fans are completely out of whack with horrible reality.
I think it's more about what fans see as potentially possible than what they expect.
I tend to think that SJM has more ability to provide funds than he suggests - he suggest he has next to nothing to put in - some fans want tens of millions - I think the answer is more likely that he could probably afford to stick in a million this season but has chosen not to.
I also think that there was a reasonable chance that Yeung might have made an offer for the club had his reaction to the paper talk not been basically that he club was worth at least double what's being talked about. For me that wasn't a decision made to make sure we got an owner with 'deep pockets' it was designed to get him the biggest and best offer possible - and it backfired an the bloke went an looked elsewhere.
So now we're stuck with a Chairman who can't or won't invest and can't sell. Nothing can be done about that now - but the opportunity
may have existed for us to break out and I blame SJM for not entertaining that possibility. He always talks as though it's the Club that matters most - but it's not - it's him.
