What's the consensus opinion?

My take is 4.5 M up front, and 6-7M overall, but God knows for sure.

PS

Surprised to see that Shane is 5-4 against reaching double figures in the Prem this season

Not that many strikers get 10 in the Prem. I thought he'd be 3 or 4 to 1

Chronicle today?

EADING manager Brian McDermott has no idea whether he has cash to spend despite a summer of sales at Madejski Stadium.

Shane Long completed his £7.5 million transfer to West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday just a few weeks after Matt Mills moved to Saturday's Championship opponents Leicester City for £5.5 million.

Long's club-record move eclipsed the £7 million Royals received for Gylfi Sigurdsson when he moved to Hoffenheim a year ago.

They can't even spell Reading.

I think that its def 4.5m CASH now. This seems to have been the deal-maker. Probably Mills cash is all spread out (as Leics have none) so we need this for salaries and tax.

Then the rest is probably, as widely reported, £2m to 3.5m in addons.

I suspect this includes a 20% sell on though - given Doyle's situation we would be foolish not to insist on one. This would be worth say £1m of the add ons. Another sizeable chunk is probably due if WBA stay up - this is insuring the risk of being a champ club owing us money. We're probably confident with Hodgson in charge that they stay up so have agreed to a big chunk. Then there might be something on appearances - say over 30 and its 250k more and maybe the same again for over 10 goals (they missed a lot of pens last season :D )

In this confusion I cannot see how you can possibly pay out on the sweepstake! Unless you split 3 ways between 4.5m/6m and 7.5m.

I mean technically the 4.5m person is right at this present moment in time!

You could always wait three years then write to the club!

Apparently due to some faffing from madejski, hammond only got 5.5 million for shane long. Not happy with this.

Happy with it all going to charity or with whoever guessed £6.5 million as that seems to be the most widely-quoted value - how do I pay my tenner in any case?
