muddyfeet You're very opinionated today

Still think we were crap going forwards

I agree. So one-paced and predictable going forward (first half in particular) and couldn't manage the basics at all. It's not that hard to play in someone on the overlap and cross the ball, but we just kept plodding around doing nothing.

Blackman was poor, no arguments there and we were much better in the second half with Guthrie starting to look like something other than a slow chubby schoolboy. Still disjointed and average though.

I just want this season to be over tbh, had enough of it. Wholesale changes in the summer.

Jobi played OK today.

QPR were absolutely appalling today.

That was about it really.

patronise muddyfeet all you want, but she's shown more understanding about football in one sentence than you have in an entire season.

To me it seems both teams were a mixture of nervous and dejected. An odd game which we can't really read too much into. some random thoughts:

Adkins is still learning, which is what he's here for.

The change to the way we play is reassuring.

Mcanuff shou,d never play on the left again. He's brilliant in the centre or the right.

Harte should never play again.

Blackman needs to ge some confidence, poor lad. I can see him coming good.

Gunter is very fast and works hard. Adkins is getting the best out of him.

I was being genuine. It's nice to see comments on games that don't have hidden RTG/STG agendas.

Another one that was a bit of a bore. You can see why both teams are going down. But at least, the signs of improvement were there again. I would say the passing was better and more threatening than the last game at Norwich, but still just lacking in the final third at the most important times. We seemed to have improved somewhat defensively as well, and at least no mistakes cost us the game today. Then again, there are still mistakes and wrong decisions happening all over the pitch. The players still dont seem to want to really go for it as much as I hoped, its not like they have anything to lose. I guess it mainly comes down to the confidence issue again.

I wont really miss Pog next season. I don't hate him but I don't see how he is so much better than what we've already got. For a big guy he wins virtually nothing in the air and gets pushed off the ball too easily. More often than not he is either too slow or his touch isn't good enough. He was unlucky with that first chance today, but he should buried the second one that he made for himself.

I wouldn't say anyone played particularly badly though. I saw us last week and to be fair McAnuff, Karacan and Blackman didnt play too well last week but they were all better today. McCleary was nowhere near as good. Guthrie was probably our best player. Still not quite enough though. We have won that game really, but I guess QPR will be saying the same. They are as bad as us, but at least we haven't spent an absolute fortune. Hopefully we will still finish above them. At the end of the game when the managers shook hands and Redknapp was laughing, maybe he said "Hahaha, were both as shit as eachother"

I am not sure what to make of the game with neither side wanting to commit to try to win to stave off relegation for another week.

Both sides as bad as each other, result relegation for both.

Nearly as patronising as the person who asked if I was in the right place when queuing for the bus to the stadium

Dull game (barring the last 3 minutes or so). Fans didn't care much, players didn't care much, both teams relegated then applauded off the field.

Still not understanding all the Guthrie love.

Frankly, thank God this season is over. To paraphrase John Cleese in Clockwork: "It's not the despair, I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand."

From the comments on here and on the radio after the game it seems that people are split 50:50 on whether we were rubbish or not.

Anyone who enjoyed any part of that game or thought it was in any way positive is an out and out sadist.
We were rubbish, the game was rubbish and QPR were rubbish. The passing was mainly rubbish, the final ball (not that we managed to attempt many) was rubbish.

As another poster said, QPR and us deserved what we got and it was fitting we both confirmed our fates together yesterday.

One glimmer of hope was the defence which looked ok but most players out there are not cut out for a passing style of play or decisive link up/counter attacking.

I was hoping two teams who have let their fans down so badly this season might have had a go at each other but we were served up utter, utter shite yesterday.

There also seems to be a debate as to whether Pog was any good yesterday or not. He was not.
