I'm just not that confident that this will happen, just simply because of where we are in the table. Assuming we win on Saturday and then play Stoke, we could be up to 11 points clear of Barnsley, should we beat Stoke, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) be a minimum of 10 clear of Peterborough, unsure if they play in midweek, which seems a huge gap at this point in the season and would mean we would have secured 3 wins on the trot which is also unusual for a team in our position at this point in the season.

It's entirely possible that we could win our next 3 games (including Cardiff which would mean we'd have won 4 games) on the trot, but it just seems unlikely. Personally, I'd rather us beat Barnsley, lose against Stoke and beat Cardiff as potentially a realistic achievement for ourselves.

Peterbotough have 2 tough home games this week

Middlesborough on Saturday followed by Luton on Tuesday night.

Barnsley aren't playing as their postponed game is v Blackpool who are playing another rescheduled game v Preston next week.

Personally I see a draw on Saturday, one v Stoke and a win v Cardiff but anything is possible at this stage.

I see something similar, maybe a defeat against Stoke in the week as we don't tend to do that well against them but a win against Cardiff. Possibly vice-versa, win vs Stoke and lose vs Cardiff. It's important that we don't lose on Saturday though, a win would be so big.

Yep, 4 or 5 points next week will be fine as long as the defeat isn't on Saturday. If we lose on Saturday, that is still OK but would really put pressure on taking 6 points from the 2 home games.

Snowflake Royal It's mindblowing that he didn't get demoted after missing multiple pens in one game.

O oxf*rd off. That was without a doubt the worse refereeing performance I can recall. Genuinely think he must have been on the pay. Genuinely.

Same here, this game is absolutely huge. a win, or even a draw and we can breath easy, but a defeat and we are right back in the mix, the Barnsley players are going to be right up for this, we have to be the same.

Ehibhatiomhan now ahead of Clarke (in the unlikely event of Clarke not being injured of course).

Looks like a referee change - David Webb on the teamsheet.

Keith Stroud was 4th official at Hull last night, not too far from Barnsley, a bit surprised by that one.

EDIT, still Stroud according to the beeb.

It does look that way. They seem to rate Ehib quite a bit

If it is David Webb, he last took charge of the home game with Coventry in February, before that his record was

11 Dec 2021 > West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Reading
21 Aug 2021 > Coventry City 2-1 Reading
20 Feb 2021 > Reading 0-2 Middlesbrough
30 Dec 2020 > Swansea City 0-0 Reading
30 Oct 2020 > Coventry City 3-2 Reading
26 Sep 2020 > Cardiff City 1-2 Reading
20 Oct 2018 > Reading 3-1 Millwall
29 Nov 2014 > Norwich City 1-2 Reading
24 Aug 2013 > Blackpool 1-0 Reading
01 Nov 2011 > Nottingham Forest 1-0 Reading
05 Dec 2009 > Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Reading

Webb did Barnsley's last home game, so they obviously forgot to edit it.

Is their keeper wearing the same colour as our away kit? Or is it pale green vs yellow?

Well that's poor. Think Nyland has to do better there. Swift really shouldn't have given that away.

Reckon probably a pen earlier. But Joao goes down easy too often and very early to give it. And we got 2 shots. So not stonewall.
