I don't know how we'll cope without Karacan and Leigertwood against Sheffield United.

The cloth has been cut. The quality is gone from the squad.

The players try hard. McD is doing a fantastic job and we are out-performing compared to the money that has "not" been spent on players.

The truth is we are an average squad doing very well to be in the top half. Our aim now seems to be a feeder club for the PL and for the club to bank the profits.

Although Brian McDermott doesn't share the same views.
"But I was pleased with how Hal did in Jobi's place. He was part of what I thought was a good performance today."

According to Tim Dellor and Mick Gooding he was very ineffective today.

So you expect him to come out and slate him?

The way it was said it was more a set of excuses for a poor performance rather than claiming he did well.

Can't believe this thread title. We were unlucky to lose that game today and there were some excellent individual performances with two key players missing.

The narrow and subjective conviction of one who only takes the evidence of what is right in front of him. Don't you realise that basing your judgment off being at the game makes you impossibly prejudiced?

Indeed, silly of me to actually watch the game to form an opinion.

robb the royal Get your facts straight before you start moaning....
only 1 team within 3 points of us (below us) has a game in hand... ipswich, and we have a much better goal difference. As for above us, no one has a game in hand up to 5th (with many played one more), 2nd of all, we had more possession today (having played most of the 2nd half with 10 men) yeah, we didn't have as many shots, but you can't expect a team with less men to do much else but defend (especially against a team, who, on paper, should beat us with 11 men!)
finally, lets assume we still had Rodgers in charge, yes, we may well be as high in the table as Swansea, but we wouldn't have been playing boro' today, we would have been playing Yeovil! We would have been relegated last season, funds had nothing to do with Rodgers going, the fact that he wasn't producing a team who were playing at the level they could be (Brain proved that) and the fact that he had lost the dressing room (players shouting back at him from the pitch showed that) was why he left. Good riddance to him. If you seriously expected a promotion season this year, you are mistaken! This year was only ever going to be about building, lets not forget Brian hasn't been in the job much over a year!

And next year will be about flogging off what we have built.

And as his disciples keep reminding us, the club is the self-promoting 'Premier League ambition  ' Madejski.

Looks like RFC need to get two points a game now on to make the play-offs , so would need to play like a team doing as well as QPR, not likely to happen, and what they really need to do is to start performing for BM, and improve on last seasons points and place finish. At least it would then be an improvement. Also I think that BM should be honest and say that at the monmet this squad is not going to make the play-offs, but will keep working hard for every available point.

Obviously not. We don't want a Nigel Clough style interview. However commenting on a player who clearly didn't have a good game doesn't give the best impression.

He was asked a direct question about Robson-Kanu's performance. He put as positive a spin on it as he could.

If he'd refused to comment his silence would've been deafening.

So I am glad everyone agrees with Sir Dodger.

Question: How can we be building a team for the future if we sell ALL our best players? Surely you never get beyond trying to build a team.

Answer: Do an Egypt and get rid of El Presidenti The Mad JM. That's the answer. A rebellon is called for so all you RTG's need to mount the Madhouse and dethrone the Madman before all the crown jewells are locked away in his Swiss Bank Accounts.
