Back from the game - Norwich

by Norfolk Royal » 12 Feb 2011 19:06

Incident packed game.

Didn't have a good view of the Karacan sending off, looked like one of those 50-50 challenges where someone comes off worse, in this case the Norwich player, then a massive scrum of players and the inevitable red card for Jem.

Kebe had the beating of the Norwich defence time and time again, good cross by him for Long's goal.

One extraordinary incident seconds before half time where Kebe was trying to take a quick corner and the linesman was standing in the corner quadrant, for what reason only he knows.

Kebe became frustrated and in the end sort of stabbed the ball through his legs straight to a Norwich player. Wtf was that all about?

Lino got poleaxed by a coin thrown from the Norwich section, which was aimed at Harte who took stick all afternoon following the Grant Holt sending off incident at the Madejski.

Norwich will get fined for that. The stewards seemed to identify the culprit who was taken out the ground, then appeared to have been exonerated and came back in.

Pick of our players were Long and Kebe, Federici, but my MOM was Tabb. He was everywhere and, I'd like to see the incident on TV, but looked to have won a stone wall penalty in the second half, denied by the very poor ref.

To lose to a goal in the last minute of injury time was galling after playing most of the second half with ten men, and more than holding our own.

But as my Norwich mates pointed out after the game, they did have several one-on-ones in the second half which Federici saved well.

Unluky to lose that one I think.

Comments on the radio stated Tabb went down too easily.

If he was touched at all, it was a pen, but like I say I didn't get a great view of it as it was too far away. If he wasn't touched then it was a dive and he should have been booked, which he wasn't.

Judging by the way our players were fuming and surrounded the ref after the incident, they all thought it was a pen.

If it was a dive one would have thought they would have slunk off rather than surround the ref.

Not sure on the tabb penalty some get given some don't. Thought overall a draw would have been fair, some good saves by fed and Norwich looked fairly ordinary, we needed kebe on the ball more as when he got running at them they couldn't cope. Antonio had a chance to put us 2:1 up, thought Howard for caught in procession too many times, Harte got found out for pace a few times which gave them the first goal. Sucker punch to conseed in injury time again. Was macanuff injured? Think we will struggle minus 2 centre mids now!

It was a football match m8, not an affirmation of your doom-laden philosophy.

Just to double the agony at losing a game ten seconds from the end, a little snippet.

Apparently when the ball was kicked into the crowd in the move leading up to their winning goal, it was caught by the Norwich City chief exec, McNally, who instantly threw it down to pitch side where it was caught by the Norwich manager Paul Lambert, who threw it straight to a player for the throw in which led to the goal.

The CE McNally is being credited with winning the game up here.

As I understand it the guy McNally who caught it was some way up the stand in the executive box so sheer fluke that it went to him and he caught it. If it had hit some old duffer on the head and skewed off somewhere else Norwich would never have had time to score, so they are saying up here in between guffawing.

I wouldn't bet on it, we've got no class these days with the likes of Mills, Harte and Hunt bringing everyone down to their level.

Jem's housemate Callum Kennedy got sent off on his debut for Rotherham today as well, probably got some kind of hoilday planned. Both in the 64th minute as well, spooky.
