Sheff U (a) match thread - The Dane Whitehouse Experience

by floyd__streete » 15 Feb 2011 19:02

Reading - mid-table and midle-cass - are the antithesis of Sheff U, an angry, snarling mob of northerners, perpetually seething at their own side's ineptitude. One can only imagine how many wives were beaten in Sheffield during the days when we used to own them, insult being added to considerable domestic injury by the fact that northerners both invented and care about football more than we do and therefore deserve to win more than we do. In fact, southerners care so little for association football that I should in reality be out in my double garage polishing my Volvo ahead of the drive over to Wellington Country Park for the Polo at the weekend rather than writing this nonsense.

All a bit nasty and unnecessary that

Still, the bit that guts me out about our recent slide into mediocrity is losing the guaranteed 6 points from the Blades.

Woohoo! One striker against a team who haven't won in eons! Almost as ambitious as signing a window cleaner from Eastleigh.

So Gunnar in for HRK. Had hoped for changes in the back 4. If Pearce is fit he really should be back in the side. Church doesn't even make the squad.

Griffin, Ivar, Harte and Gunnarsson - slow.
Howard makes the team - oh bollocks.

Any hint of pace in the Sheff Utd front line and we're fecked.

From our perspective, I can't really see where the goals will come from tonight.

May as well throw Manset in, mightn't we? Go 2 up and have a f*cking go, we're so far adrift. Howard would probably have to make way.

You could argue its an attacking lineup with Kebe, Mcanuff, Howard having the licence to push forward.

Lets have a Hob Nob first goal sweepstake. I'll have Cresswell.

Fair play. I don't know how Sheff U will line up, but if we can flood their midfield, it doesn't really matter if we have one or three up front (seeing as that one is Long who covers a fair bit of the pitch), we will score against them.
