To the fans who mocked Blades fans ...

by Mad Dog's Ghost » 25 Apr 2011 19:15

Well done.

2 nil up and our world was looking nice and rosy. So in the spirit of the day's theme, coming together with the away fans to pay tribute to Chris Armstrong, you decide to give it a round of 'going down, going down'.

No need.

Yeah, they probably are doomed, but they sure pissed on our chips.

I complained to a steward. The other day I heard "you're not signing anymore." I can't believe fans would be so plain mean as to rub in another club's misfortune. These people have feeling you knew.

Yeah I think RFC fans stand alone in verbally kicking an opposing team when it's down.

Can't think of one set of fans apart from our own that would behave in that fashion.

Absolutely disgraceful and we deserve to have the book thrown at us.

Ally, didn't offend me. Hope you enjoyed it. Just thought it lacked a bit of class.

And made me think: 'Don't feckin tempt fate you idiots.'

And lo and behold ...

I agree with OP, but am proud it was only a minority and didn't last long. Most other clubs would have piled on the abuse.
How bad did Derby fans look at pride park when we went down?

If warnock and paddy kenny were still there id have gone for it though. As it is they're a haunting reminder of what we might have become.

Of course it was the RFC fans fault that Reading managed to turn a stroll in the park into a loss.
Don't do it ever again Reading fans or I'll tell the FA on you.

No.

Apparently it was because about 50 fans booed Reading at half time.

Agreed, constant petty taunting of them when they hadn't sung one obnoxious song at us. Yet we felt the need to become derby county fans and take the piss out of their relegation all day.

Justice done, seeing a bunch of arrogant reading fans pouring out to cries of cheerio, cheerio at the end.

The Sheffield United fans showed great dedication to come to a match where they possibly could have gone down. Fair play to them.

As did we not so long ago. I thought they showed good humour, were naturally shocked and elated. The best of days for them.

Loved the soggy chips reference in one of their chants.

It seems some fans felt justice was done and we had no choice but to lose

Some ridiculous sentiments here... if I was supporting a team just about to go down, I'd expect endless abuse from the opposition, it's just what happens in football (hold no grudges against Derby for doing it to us, why would I??). United are going down and Reading fans were keen to rub it in, as would be the case the other way around. What's the problem? Man up or fvck off.

Yes, you're right; I suppose it IS what one should expect from opposition fans but the fact remains that supporters chanting abuse at, and songs taking the piss out of, other clubs' fans for whatever misfortune they might be dealing with, are a classless bunch of oxf*rd.
