retro royal Anyone else with international royals TV pass able to view the Wimbledon game, just asks me to upgrade subscription. My subscription is valid until August.

EDIT FOUND the answer : -

Please note that these pre-season friendly fixtures are not included within seasonal/monthly subscriptions and all supporters wishing to watch these friendly games will need to purchase a Match Pass.

From what I've heard/read quite a few of those with International Royals TV passes were already pissed off from last season due to the number of blackout games. This, IMO, short-sighted move by the club is unlikely to encourage people to commit to a pass this season.

Speaking as one of those international Royals I think the pass is excellent value (even if I’m forced to listen to Dellor) even with the blackout games.

It helps in the US that I have espn so the blackout games are shown there but I’m sure it’s a similar situation in other countries too.

Having ESPN clearly does help but to some it does feel like having to pay twice for the same thing, I think someone published the international subscriber numbers a while back and they were, to my mind, surprisingly low.

Speaking as a pretend international Royal I have zero expectations of getting cup or friendly matches rolled in, and the cost is unbelievable value for the season.

And there were very few black out matches everywhere. And when there were, they were usually easy to find a stream for.

I'm sure there were a lot for some countries. But VPN's are dirt cheap and South Korea gets access to almost every game.

Speaking as a genuine International Pass holder, in a country that did not have 'Championship rights' there were no league games on blackout other than those on UK TV. Being in League 1, that will probably be even less of an issue, and I agree the VFM is excellent.

However as this club is an absolute horror show that has 0% interest in their own fans (not blaming the staff, blaming the owners and useless CEO for blocking any meaningful communication) they are living in dreamland if they think I would give them a single penny to watch the young kids play in what was little more than a summer training session.

If the club treat the supporters like they matter, they have my support. But the current treatment is unacceptable (and FWIW, I started going regularly in the 4th tier days, so personally it's no big issue being in the 3rd tier).

This summer was a chance to re-set and rebuild, but the club has wasted the opportunity with the managerial situation and wasted the chance to build a squad (even just with free transfers and loans). What is worse, for me is that this summer they have completely alienated the fans, treating them with virtual contempt (deliberately or not) by a complete lack of engagement. And yes, I appreciate sensitivity, confidentiality etc. This doesn't mean they cannot make an effort to inform and appease their dwindling supporter base.

The owners have been generous with the money they have invested (for whatever reason that is) but are beyond poor at running football clubs. What they have done to the club by making poor decision after poor decision is even worse because of the fortunes put in to it (would be tolerated if they had no money to invest), but finding somebody else willing and able to take on the mess is optimistic.

Even relegated we can't avoid a televised QPR game.

It means you'll have to pay a fixed price each month, rather than one lump sum.

Click on "show subscriptions" under the "Passes" heading - it should be available there.

Except it’s not, as per my post.

I just have available monthly video £25.00pm, monthly audio £4.something pm and the QPR PSF.

Where are you based CR? I've just checked and I've got the same. Only monthly options available.

UK but I use a foreign VPN.

Maybe they just haven’t finalised new pricing yet.

Or maybe they're not confident of the club staying in business for more than one month at a time?

EDIT - or maybe their credit card processing company doesn't? Seeing a company with winding up petitions against it has been known to make credit card companies get a bit twitchy if they don't think the company will be around long enough to fulfil contracts paid for on their cards.

What country are you using a VPN for? I wonder if some countries don't have the option of seasonal pricing.

I’m up North on Saturday so I’ve just brought my £5.00 pass for the Southampton game.

The only options I have are for a monthly audio pass or individual £5.00 passes for the preseason games. I don’t think subscriptions for annual passes will be available until next month.

And the fun begins.

Reading's visit to Cambridge has been moved from Saturday September 2 to 8pm on Monday September 4, 2023, for SKY coverage.

The scheduled Trophy visit to Exeter on Tuesday September 5 will now be re-arranged.
