Player Ratings

by Friday's Legacy » 10 Sep 2011 18:07

federici - 5
griffin - 3
mills - 5
gorkss - 7
pearce - 6
mcanuff - 6
kebe - 4
karacan - 6
leigertwood - 3
manset - 6
le fondre - 5 (no service)

federici should have done better for the free-kick, and what was the first thing he did when it went in? he blamed the wall he organised. but then he makes the most of a pretty standard save and suddenly everyone will forget how average this keeper is and he'll keep the shirt for the immediate future.

griffin was a massive disappointment today. giving away needless free-kicks, his head always down and just a shrug of his shoulders. he doesn't look interested and he needs to be dropped!

too many also look too comfortable and are not pushing themselves this season. griffin, leigertwood, kebe, mcanuff all need dropping from the side! they're obviously too valuable to not play but they aren't working hard enougn to warrant the shirt. the likes of taylor, d'ath, obita all want that shirt and would bust a gut for 90 minutes given the chance. we can't exactly get any worse and you'll get the hunger back straight away!

it's tough on the manager because he's proved he's worthy of the job, but what can you do when you piss in the wind all the time with the chairman selling your best players every summer. how do you build a squad under those circumstances?

today was three points lost because that had to be a win and it wasn't. we are in for a bottom third season this season and i have genuine fears that we could well go down this season, but give them all the benefit of the doubt, it's still early doors.

Perhaps he blamed the wall because they parted like the red sea.

how many times have we all said one of his biggest weaknesses is low to his right? where did the free-kick go? low to his right? did he get anywhere near it?

if the ball isn't at a comfortable height for him to make a flash harry save then the guy is always in trouble.

Just how can you seriously give any of that lot any credit or marks out of ten?!

We just got easily - and I mean easily - turned over by relegation fodder!

the score was 0-2!

And could have and should have been more!

there was nothing about today to be positive about. NOTHING

Federici 5?

Lets ignore the 3/4 good saves he made on top of smothering a near certain 1v1 after our defence were carved open....again. On top of the fact he held pretty much everything that went into the box. Definite 7 otherwise you are an idiot.

Disagree about dropping McAnuff - thought he tried hard. Whether he's skipper material is another question. If you want a contrast in presence, Taylor was a good example today.

Kebes attitude 2nd half was shocking. Truly shocking. I would give him a 2 and thats generous.

Feds 6- I don't feel he deserves more, he made a few good saves (as always) but still let in two goals and didn't exactly have a stormer. He wasn't particularly at fault for either, so 6 is about right.
Griffin 5- allowed Mills to get forward, but was a bit rash. Looks like he hasn't recovered from his injury.
Gorkss 7- our best player, looks like a very good signing.
Pearce 6- neither good nor bad.
Mills 5- feel sorry for him, a bag of nerves with poor decision making, despite some nice touches. He's what we need though, hopefully he can push on from here and won't leave us exposed at the back.
Kébé 5- looked good when he switched to the left which saves him from an even lower rating, but he wasn't getting enough of the ball on the right, maybe because of Mills' overlaps and Griffin staying back. Also needs to apply himself more. Might benefit from being dropped, but then we fall apart without him.
Legs 4.5- his worst performance for us. Dwelled on the ball too much. However, he got between the boxes well. Has done well previously and
Karacan 5- has also had better games. Seems to have become reliant on Legs to play well and make it easier for him rather than grabbing games.
McAnuff 5.5- don't care about him as a captain. Should put the ball into the box more. Supported fairly well by Mills.
Le Fondre- 5. No service, and doesn't seem to be one to get involved much in proper play.
Manset 6- had a massive two shots, the only player of ours who looked dangerous, although Taylor's experience kept him quiet for the most part. Makes Long look lazy, which means he's never got enough energy in attack. Was showing for a pass when he should have been in the box waiting for a cross.
