I'm sure Brian is thinking exactly the same as sdc.

:| right back at you. I bet he isn't.

Can't all go right, we took a punt and this time it didn't work. I'd expect Brian to be doing exactly the same as most of those on the thread, wishing him good luck and being pleased to help him move on to further a career that wasn't going anywhere here, at this level.

Whilst also thinking, 'thank goodness we've got him off the wage bill'.

Therefore 'good riddance', it doesn't have to be meant in a deragotory (sp?) way, it just implies that we are glad to be rid of him. Which I think most are.

He's going to have been a tiny proportion of the wage budget, and was on loan at the moment anyway. Hardly significant in the grand scheme of things.

But would you not agree that Brian will be happy that he's found him a move somewhere?

AthleticoSpizz if you are considered a veteran at 25,,then well, yes

However, Williams "failed" at 23/24 years of age....Cummings comes good at 22

Fine lines

Um no, he's not a veteran at 25, he's just too old to make severe improvement. He didn't just fail at 23/24...he continued to fail which is why he wasn't selected again.

Waste of time.

.....and as a waste of time..... thats why he was signed

And as the soothsaying philsopher of football such as you are, he's too old to improve at 25?

Read my original "wherever whatever" post..............personally I couldn't care less about him.

Its just the usual pack-hound mentality (as is HNA tradition by some on here) of slagging off a player (who incidentaly still remains a Reading player) that I find very naive....when you factor in the Cummings thing of recent months.

Delighted if I am right, and more so if you are proved wrong....

....but very small beer whatever

....next

As a free transfer that was worth a punt and didn't actually work out, it's fine. I'm sure it happens to a lot of players and good luck to Marcus at Sheffield Utd. I think he might have suffered from the club making a bigger thing about signing him than perhaps he warranted and therefore raising expectations.

Hear this care-free line trotted out quite a bit. You forget that transfer fee is one side of the coin; we've also tied up wages on Williams which would have been better used towards someone who would actually improve our team :|

Same can be said for any number of expensive signings we've been unable to shift.

They got him out the door as quickly as they could.

At least this guy was cheap.

Yes of course, quite right. But I just don't subscribe to the 'he's cheap so who cares if he is cr@p' mindset of some fans.

Good luck to the lad. Shame it didn't happen down here but that is football. Has anyone considered that he may have struggled to settle in the area? The fact that he has returned north may speak volumes but then I don't expect most of the mongs on here would have the bandwidth to consider that as a reason.

For crying out loud, that isn't REMOTELY the discussion here. RTG's will stop at NO lengths to find another angle to fight and defend from.

Can you for once just moan about something the club has done brendy?

Marcus Williams was not deserving of a 2 page thread. The most :| piece of news you're likely to hear for a while.
