Best keepers in the division

by moonwalklikebas » 22 Oct 2011 10:34

If i hear one more person either on here or at matchdays slag of feds i will go insane!

By far the best keeper in the division and has kept us in so many games the last few seasons.
Some of you expect a mid table championship side to have buffon in goal and therefore should be given a medical examination, because he is at the minute our most consistent performer. The reason why he has been good is because of the competition behind him.

AMC is fantastic young keeper and he is keeping of MA who is regarded as one of the brightest goalkeeping prospects in europe.

basically, noone slag of our keepers, we are lucky to have a line of excellence inbetween the sticks! 8)

He has also cost us many games over the years. Judging by his rubbish kicking on Tuesday night he is clearly not the best.

Hmmmmmm, your English is just about passable, but you need to learn the difference between "of" and "off" and capitialise the "i". By the way, when you say "buffon", do you mean "a buffoon" or "Buffon"?

Having said that, I agree with you that we seem to have top quality keepers at the club at the moment. But how long will it last before one of them gets tired of sitting on the bench waiting for his turn?

Speaking of keepers, did anyone hear Dellor take idiocy to a new level last night?

Tried to claim that Kasper Schmeichel only has a job because of his name. Yeah, that and the fact he's the best keeper in the division by quite a margin. Fcuking mong. :|

If he really is the best, then why isn't he in the Premier League? Oh he was with Manchester City, but why did they let him go?

Not necessarily true. To be the best doesn't imply he is top in all area of the game - simply that he is , overall, better than others.

What is 'the best' anyway. Some great shot stoppers are poor at distribution etc. Whether he is the best in the league is immaterial to be honest. He is above the requisite quality line and that is enough for me.

He's saved us and also cost us! Not the best in the league but certainly in the top 5. Fielding is probably the best, having emerged over the past year and a bit

Good keeper, excellent at the spectacular stuff... but has to be because his positioning and awareness isn't all that good. And he doesn't command his area particularly well. On his day he's awesome, but he does make too many costly mistakes to be a genuinely top keeper.

Using kicking as a reason why he isn't brilliant is stupid really. Not only because when people were calling for Hahnemann to be dropped it was because Fed's kicking was so much better. In fact I think whenever there's a call for us to drop a keeper it's because their kicking is shit and the up and comers is better. But also because kicking is of relatively minor importance for a goalkeeper.

"The only reason" is a bit harsh but it's not far off the mark. He's a good keeper but he's not the best in the league and certainly not "by quite a margin". His reputation is slightly down to his name.

Fair play to Feds, after a slightly ropey start to the season he's definitely upping his game and justifying his position. Shame for McCarthy who I still think will be better for us long term.

Kasper Schmeichel is massively overated. Actually agree with Tim Dellor, big name, average keeper. We've had Davies and Fielding at Reading this week, they are both better keepers that Schmeichel.

Don't agree. Every time we've come up against Schmeichel he's had a blinder. Leicester could have had their pick of any goalkeeper in this division. They chose him. That says alot.

Leicester had their pick of any centre back in the division and chose Matt Mills.
