Kebe, as a £400k gamble from the French second division was another cheap gamble. To call him a Malian international is a bit of a laugh too, he couldn't even get in their side then or still now.

Proven would be someone with experience of playing at the level of which you find yourself or higher. I am not against this signing, he could come good but he's an unknown quantity playing at a really low level and we need someone for NOW...not a work in progress like manset/williams/baseya,etc. You can't keep referring to the doyle/long scenario as the success rate is awfully low. Doyle we got great use out of..we got one season out of long and he was sold, so people talking about young and hungry players are the way to go are also talking a bit of shite as they equally end up wanting to move when someone bigger comes along anyway.

This guy is 20, and has europa league experience. The fact that other clubs in the division are after him, and that everton took him on suggests he's got something.
Everyone compares him to being the next Long or Doyle. He's himself, and probably doesn't want comparisons with other players.
This signing is great because it gives our forward line some competition, while providing cover on the right, almost like signing 2 players!
And we haven't paid a transfer fee (although he's below 24, so don't we have to pay compensation?)
I reckon this fella will do well, and hopefully put church back on the bench, where he belongs!
We've got a 50% record of signing real gems for little or no money. Happy days.

to mention but a few. They far outweight the quality end product of the cheap signings we've brought in. But please cling to the belief that anyone we've spent decent money on ( for the level we were playing at) were all failures.

Halford, Matejovsky, Fae & Rosenior were all failed big money signings
Lita, Convey, Duberry, Mills and Seol were all fairly limited success stories. With generally a maximum of one good season.

Cureton was a steal at his price. Kitson was cheap, I don't remember Sidwell costing a lot either. Murty spent about close to a year out injured but did turn out to be a great buy in the end..
