Svlad Cjelli Whatever. Someone needs to be asking a few awkward questions to disrupt the general "everyong is wonderful, who will we buy" love in?
PS - Considering the previous post came from someone whose big and original idea is trying to pass themselves off as an established and actually witty poster, I think I need a new irony meter. Mine appears to be broken!

TheMaraudingDog To be fair, the fact that there are a lack of replies on this thread when there are 100's of giddy ones on the TSI thread shows how divvy most people on here are.

Ian Royalpaultheroyal Not your greatest moment Dirk.
He's got some pretty valid concerns even if he is coming across as a bit up himself.

Svlad Cjelli what happens if the deal doesn't happen or if the new owners fail the Football League's "Directors and Owners Test" (previously the "Fit and Proper Persons Test").

Maguire I have sympathy with the caution shown (after all, this is the most significant moment in RFC's history ) however I can't get along with the "we must be given more information, and quickly" message.
It's really not got anything to do with us [as customers] in a business sense. I don't see any problem in conducting the transaction behind close doors and with anonymity in the same way that we don't conduct player acquisitions under the close scrutiny of the fanbase either. Just because we didn't know we were in negotiations with eg. Kaspars Gorkss doesn't mean he wasn't a good player when we finally announced him.
Biggest worry for me would be that Sir John is selling through necessity and that he might not be able to be as picky about a buyer as he may have once liked.

Fans have zilch control over promotion and relegation too, it's all part of the fun and escapism of following a football club. In the same way, if it all goes to plan, that would be great but if it all goes wrong, that would be interesting too, more interesting than the current 'ticking over' mode.
Let's be honest, if it went spectacularly wrong and we had to have a save our club campaign, that would be like all of the original poster's xmas's rolled into one in any case.

I'd have a bit more sympathy with this view if I didn't think you'd the first poster to damn the new powers if things did start to go wrong.
Personally I don't think SJM's heart has been in it for a quite a while and for that reason, cautiously welcome a new era.
