soggy biscuit How are they going to recreate his 150 yard goal against Tranmere where he shot from Tilehurst Road and bounced it off the roof of The Spread Eagle before scoring while 350,000 fans went wild on the Southbank and the ref walked on his hands back to the centre circle?

Just 'cos you weren't there.

To answer the question in the OP, probably Richard E Grant.

If he could actually act, I'd use Noel Fielding.

Alan Carr (in a wig). I think if anyone could pull Robin off it would be Alan.

If it is funded from Wales it will all be about Cardiff City whilst Robin Friday will be called Robin Dydd Gwener and played by Ruth Maddock.

Daniel Day Lewis would have been my choice but he's too old for the role now. Michael Fassbender would be superb for the part though. Just wheel in Jimmy Quinn to recreate the 'wonder' goal scored by Robin Friday as JQ scored one himself against Wolves that was straight out of Roy of the Rovers.

Fasts bender would be awesome, but this will be low low budget I'm sure.

Would love that, shame he's a bloody Sheff Utd supporter...

Mentioned by Dan Jones in the Evening Standard.

Who, interestingly, is from Reading and studied history at Cambridge.

I think I have a man crush.

He referred to Friday as a Reading hero.....

....and he was born to Welsh parents...

Perfect symmetry.

Little chance of that once a celtic angle is involved. 'The Legend of Robin Friday' is as good a guide as there is for them to use but I spotted a mistake in even that. Friday's last ever game wasn't V Lawrenson's Brighton but at Bolton a few weeks later.
