Team for QPR

by andrew1957 » 31 Oct 2012 18:11

My guess is that Pearce will be recalled - contract issues or not. Gorkks had a mare and will need to be rested until he gets his confidence back. I thought Fed looked average at best so will be astounded if McCarthy is not back. Cummings will complete the back 4.

The big worry is CM as Legs and Tabb both looked completely knackered by the end of the match last night but I see no alternative to starting them (which might cost us dear). Think Guthrie will return to the bench.

McCarthy
Cummings
Pearce
Mariappa
Shorey
Kebe
Legs
Tabb
McAnuff
Pog
Roberts or Hunt

Subs
Roberts or Hunt
ALF
Fed
Harte or Gunter or Gorkks
Guthrie
HRK
McCleary

after last night something that involves Sean Morrison, he was the only player (including any midfielder) that looked anywhere near capable of defending last night.

Would not disagree about his performance last night but still doubt he will be involved on Sunday. Apart from anything else we need as many fresh legs as possible on Sunday.

Posted elsewhere but it's vanished in the hyperbole.

McCarthy
Cummings, Mariappa, Pearce, Shorey
Guthrie, Ledge
Kebe, Hunt, McAnuff
Roberts

Basically a 4-4-2 but with Hunt sitting a little deeper and dropping into midfield when we haven't got possession. I'd settle for Tabb in instead of Ledge and McCleary in instead of Kebe.

McCarthy - Feds shows no aerial dominance and tries to use his showman flashy saves to make us forget hes sh#t.
Cummings- because Gunter was caught many times and was just poor.
Pearce - Gorks is a strong defender but gives the ball straight back which makes his defensive skill pointless at times and adds to our bad ball retention problems.
Morrisson - "same as above" plus because hes a fresh face, Mariappa had his go and hasn't been amazing.
Harte -does well when he returns from being dropped and was a catalyst last year when we had our turn around
Mccanuff- The more "defensive" Winger, As captain i cant see him being dropped but moving him to the right he could do well.
Lwood- Scored 2 in 2, plus who else are we going to play?
Tabb- "as above"
HRK -Think he did well against arsenal and his crossing was deadly.
Hunt- Wins Everything in the air, Has been Brilliant recently and cant be dropped.
Roberts- He rolled back the years against Arsenal and played Amazing.

Subs: Taylor, Kebe, Lefondre, Pog and Gorks

So there's my team, feel free to rip it apart but with the current lot that's best its going to get...

McDermott will go

_____________McCarthy____________

Cummings_ Mariappa_ Gorkss_ Shorey

Kebe__ L,Wood__ McAnuff__McCleary__

_________Pog______Roberts______

I would go

____________McCarthy___________

Cummings_Mariappa__Pearce_Shorey

McCleary_L,wood__Guthrie__McAnuff

__________Pog____Roberts_______

If Guthrie doesn't make at least the bench then McDermott is a complete knob. You have to put personal differences aside, we can't go into games with two knackered mediocre players. I would start HRK but having played 120mins he might not be fully charged.

If McDermott puts McAnuff into CM then we've lost, but for some reason I can see him doing it!

Agreed, I think Shorey has been our best player this year.

McCleary >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kebe

Roberts and Hunt up front. Midfield unchanged. Don't give a shit about the defence, goals will be conceded whoever plays.

up front, Roberts has to start. Then its a matter of who he plays best with ...... so I'd go Hunt over Pog. McAnuff behind with Kebe and McCleary on the wings.
