10 Game Countdown....

by paultheroyal » 12 Dec 2012 13:36

Right - come on......lets get some positivity back!! Mission Impossible - Game On!

As Cmonurz pointed out - realistically we are looking at 10 wins from 16 matches if you ignore such games away to Man Utd etc.

Countdown starts now - lets tick off as we go those 10 winnable games and anything else can be added as a bonus.

I have marked the 10 winnable battles - it highlights the mammoth task ahead when you realise it does not leave much room for manoeuvre!!

Two of the games marked as winnable come before the January transfer window opens, unfortunately. If we're going to save ourselves, we're going to have to sort things out in the next two games. I'm as optimistic as they come, but I also try to be a realist. We're going to need a fighting spirit of Spartan proportions if we're going to get out of this one.

In for the first page though, I can see this thread running for a while.

Whilst there will still be 16 games in total left, I think we're going to know for certain where we are after West Brom at home. That will complete a run of three home games where we should hope to be getting positive results. 9 points from these games would be amazing, 6 or 7 points would be a start and good enough.

Fail to win more than 3 or 4 points from the next 6 games and we're pretty much done, imho.

If Fulham away is winnable then surely West Ham and Stoke are too, and seeing that we did actually win against Everton...

We have had 10 "winnable" games and only got 9 points; Everton was not included in the 10. I like to say "Must win must not lose" type of games.

We have put ourself in a postion where we have to WIN those 10 games. Even with January buys....

We are not going to do it

We need to start performing at home, forget away performances. They can oxf*rd off.

If we can't win our next winnable home game, we are down.

Will Reading get past Derby's measly 11 points from the 2007-08 season? They managed only 1 win in 38 games.
