Next two home games, season-defining

Win the next two home games against Swansea and West Ham add to that the possible signing of Arshavin and Sunza, and some much needed positivity will be in the air :)

West ham injury ravaged, Cole sent off today so could miss out, but if he appeals he as a good chance of winning it.

I've lost track of how many "season changing" "must-win" games we've had.

Depending on his team selection. I cannot fathom some of the selections he has gone for in previous games.

Guthrie must start. Pearce must start. Le Fondre must start.

Swansea - draw
West Ham - win

But, we must win both!

Agree, season defining. 2 home games back to back, even more important.

Lets have some positivity now, I'm going for 2 home wins. Its still in our hands.

I think our season is pretty much defined already.

Win both and we got a real chance of competing to stay up, anything but 6 points will make the second half of the season mission impossible.

I'm sure it can only get better now. Post Arsenal really was rock bottom so after today's game it can't surely get worse.

Getting Karacan and Pearce back should galvanise the squad a little bit.

Pog getting 90mins should keep him happy.

Guthrie should now be getting back into the fold and his tweet should help start to build a relationship with the fans.

I'm not bothered about getting relegated (Well I am) I just want to see McDermott evolve as a manager, develop his tactics, get some bloody nous and build a more attractive team. The one thing that is still worrying me though is that he remains very reactive manager.

So annoyed that West Ham don't play on Boxing Day. We've been royally screwed over by this tube strike.

Sadly this.

Even if we fluke 2 wins, we have no chance of getting out of this. People talk about only need 3 worse teams than us to stay up, unless I am mistaken with the exception of West Ham, we have played everyone and I am yet to 1 team worse than us, let alone 3

Difference is that they've almost universally been away from home.

We keep bleeding losing them soon Man U away will be a must win game...

But we do have to win the next two games, lift our spirits up for the long battle coming and January looks particular tough.

Bring in a CDM and a CAM who adds quality but still happy enough to go and play in the championship, if we go down we need to bounce back straight away it is very easy to get stuck in the championship.

Start implementing 4-5-1 instead of 4-4-2 as we need experience in this far superior formation.

Yeah, but the fact we still have them means we still have chance, albeit very small.
As long as the other shit teams keep losing we can do it. We don't need a huge haul of points, just 6 more than the 3 teams above us over the next 20 games.

Sadly our season was defined by taking 1 point out of a possible 12 against QPR, Saints, Villa and Sunderland - teams in and around where we are.

To survive now we have to average approx 1.5 points per game.
