Weather Watch- Newcastle

by LoyalRoyal22 » 14 Jan 2013 12:56

Heavy snow predicted for the rest of the week, especially in the north. Guessing there is a fair chance it could get called off :|

Snow only predicted until Wednesday - then no weather warnings anywhere in the UK for the weekend.

Actual summary for the weekend is :
Some uncertainty in the details of the forecast, however through the weekend there should be a good deal of dry and bright weather, but with the risk of snow showers in the east and southeast

And if they are gunna call it off do it the day before, or even in the morning, not when we're 15 bloody miles away from the stadium after a 5-6 hour trip.

Son who lives in Noocassel reports minimal snow in the area at the present, although BBC weather is forecasting snowfall in Noocassel for Friday night & most of Saturday.

Light snow Friday - Saturday. Can't imagine a dusting of light snow will be enough to call off a Premier league standard match in this day and age...

Been looking on a few newcastle forum's and they feel the game could be off due to safety of people around the stadium, snow is forecast Friday and more heavy on Saturday , also all current snow has frozen and temps not due to rise above freezing all week, will be really pissed off if its postponed

This is the right time to be playing Newcastle! Game needs to go ahead. We were out done by the weather for Sunderland, can't happen again surely?

I'd be fuming. Paid for flights and hotel over £300 in Aug for Sunderland and got flights and hotel for Fri coming back Sunday

Like most others here, I've spent a fair amount of money on this trip. Would be really disappointed if the game is called off, will still be great but a massive disappointment.

I keep hearing different things - heavy snow, light snow, just cold weather, etc...

No snow forecast till Saturday, and that's only going to be light. As long as they grit the surrounding areas things will be just fine.

Honestly, you lot.

I'll be there and not having a panic attack about whether the game will be on or not.

Beeb Breakfast weather today says that heavy snow is expected on Friday. To be honest, Reading looked safe-ish and Newcie looked safe-ish but the bit in between looked pretty ropey.

Safe driving.

Forecast is not good. Tempratures will not recover to allow for
Thaw plus more snow forecast for Friday. This looks off. Shame because it would have been a good time to play them.
