i take it he knows he's out the door this summer, as he was in sakura last night until the early hours.

that's not on surely? what if kelly pulls up with an injury and adkins wants to start shorey? not exactly fresh and rested from the night before, is he? what an idiot!

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and think that he's been told he wont feature for the rest of the season, but then Adkins said in his presser that all out of contract and fringe players will want to prove themselves in the final weeks.

It's not the first time he's been spotted out in bars the night before a game this season, though I'm sure he was seen not drinking when he stays over in the Madejski Hotel. He wont be here next season! There's more chance of Harte getting a one year extension as back-up.

Whether he's playing or not, as you say he could be called in at any time so this isn't on at all. The guy's an utter dipstick. He had the wrong attitude in his final season here when we were relegated the last time. It seems not a lot has changed.

A mate of mine saw him in Sakura. He left at 12am and said he was still there, not that that isn't late enough mind. I thought he'd be useful in the Championship too. A good left-back who gets forward. Just the sort of defender Nigel Adkins likes, but he certainly doesn't do himself any favours does he? Oh well, we move on thankfully.

Get rid - no footballer worth keeping would be out drinking the night before a game.

I was really impressed with him initially but doing that is not on. Shame - imagine how far he could have gone if he could actually be arsed.

One more game would trigger a contract extension, hence why he hasn't played in ages.
If Kelly was injured Harte would come in, if Harte was unavailable switch Gunter to left and Cummings on the right.
Perhaps a bit silly to go out the night before a game in case he is seen by Reading fans, but not really much in the way of bad professionalism.

Fine if he stays, on the pitch he's been excellent.

I think at times he has been excellent, he's always been very composed on the ball, the sort of player that complements Adkns style, albeit without the pace that Nige might desire or was used to from the likes of Shaw.

Worth noting that he may have not been drinking, even if he was out late.

Perhaps he just knew he wasn't in the squad today :

Perhaps, but he's been seen out the night before games this season as well, and did play. Either way who cares, he shouldn't be around next season.

I said this and was LOL'ed at. Glad someone else knows the truth also.

He won't be playing for us again, he won't be called upon again - therefore, he can drink himself silly if he wants - his season with us is over.

He was drinking pints of Coke in the Slug & Lettuce earlier Friday evening.

I suspect that is the last time I'll be seeing him, on or off the pitch.
Jo Mills will be back next season and I guess he could be cover for Kelly (although Adkins shipped him out of Southampton when they were in League 1, so maybe he doesn't rate him).

Adkins has sold Mills once. He hasn't had the best of loans at Burnley. I don't expect, nor do I hope that he is here next season either.

Yes, first half of the season he was really really good. Streets above Harte, which isn't saying much.

I would agree with the fact that he was better than Hart, but personally I don't think he was really really good. In the first half of the season our full backs were the worst players on the team, so many goals were conceded as a result of one of them being skinned.

What an absolute bunch of gimps post on here! Given that Shorey wasn't in a hotel somewhere near Fulham I think it was pretty obvious he wasn't in the squad and so could do whatever the fvck he wanted, which may or may not of included booze. Get over yourselves
