Games you'll admit you didn't bother going to

by Maguire » 11 Jun 2013 14:56

I confess:

I didn't go to the first game at the Madejski Stadium because I couldn't really be arsed with all the fuss

I didn't go to Brentford away in 2002

I've never bothered to go to Old Trafford, Goodison Park, the Etihad, White Hart Lane, or Anfield.

Newport away - 85/86, just couldn't be bothered
Leicester away -05/06, as someone else has already said, didn't think we would get promoted that day.
Last game at Elm Park.

I didn't bother going to Cardiff Away in the play off as it was just too much hassle.

Went to aevery home game last year bar Swansea. Went to all the cup games - home and away - apart from old trafford (Monday evening).

Bradford City at home in 1985. I was in town playing video games (Pengo) and just couldn't be arsed. Think Bradford went up as Champions. They beat us 3-0.

I think I have been to most games that hit the Radar in RFC History since the mid 70's

I have seen promotions, relegations, disappointments, elation, excitement, despair and even boredom.
However I did miss that bloody Plymouth come back!

Coventry in the simod cup semi in March '88.

Twas a mates 21st that day so was in a night club in Birmingham. Phoned home from the club around 11.30, (one of those payphones on a wall with a canopy over the top) to be told we'd won and were going to Wembley.

In my excitement, I jumped up and knocked the canopy off the wall, swiftly followed by 3-4 burly Brummie bouncers showing me the quickest way out onto the street.
