Hampshire Royal
Alexander Litvinenko FA Cup replay away at Halifax - a Tuesday night in November 1999 with the rain lashing down horizontally in the wind.

Was that the game where the 'bench' was made up of plastic chairs? They were being blown all over the place, which was the best part of a dismal game.

Yep, and the leg of one of them suck into the mud, but did it so slowly and inperceptively that the occupant of that chair didn't realise until he was dumped sideways into the mud.

Same day as the Ferry capsized in Zeebrugge Harbour.

Almost another thread isn't "Games that you were at on famous dates". League cup v West Ham was 9.11. How that game went ahead that day I'll never know! Was that the "Shaka loves us more than you" game?

Away to Bury in an FA Cup replay in Jan ?1986? - the only reason I remember anything about it is that the Space Shuttle exploded whilst we we driving up there.

Plus a dire Auto Windscreens defeat at Barnet in around 94 or 95. Took for ever to get there through the traffic, lashed it down all night, and all I remember is that we lost and Shaka kept kicking the ball out of play.

EDIT : hat-trick :D

There was something satisfying about the rescheduled Sunderland away last season. First goal in about 3 minutes and it was like "oh well. might as well make the most of it".

Honestly thought that was the end of BM's tenure.

You're confusing 2 games.

In 94 we won in the rain in the league with Shaka booting the ball out of play.

In 02 we lost 4-1 in the LDV.

Get it right :!:

Quite possibly - it's left an indelible blank on my memory, and I don't remember us winning so assumed we lost, as we always seemed to.

Terminal Boardom
Blue Blood Chestefield 6 or 7 (I lost count) - Reading 1

We actually took the lead (Sanchez as I recall).

It pissed down

We did take the lead, however, the scorer was Ollie Kearns after 3 minutes. I was there.

Thinking back, drawing 0-0 at home to Torquay in 75/76 was particularly crap. They didnt park the bus; they parked the whole oxf*rd fleet!!!

Was at that one it was Kearns. Bishop Stortford 1-2 our first home defeat to a non league side. Preston home 1709 lowest ever home league gate.

On paper, Reading v Torquay in Division 3 in 1992 had shite written all over it, but we romped it 6-1! Enjoyed that one!

Oxford Utd vs Man Utd at the Manor
Crap game because I hate both teams
But proud because it now transpires that (despite being an utter utter pcunt) it was Alex Fergusons first game in charge of Man yoo and I was there.

Lived in Oxford at the time

I almost feel left out. I only started going to football in 2004 and only started going to away games in 08 and in that time there's not been anything on quite the level of crap that some have mentioned on here!

The home game with Hull (0-1) in the 2011/12 season was a bluddy awful afternoon! First game after the AZ deal, everyone's minds elsewhere I suppose but that was a bad game.

The whole of 1988-1991 immediately springs to mind on that count
