windermereROYAL They seem like a decent bunch, been living in our shadow for a quarter of a century and now giving it the Johnny big bollocks now they are above us for the first time in maybe 30 years.
Hope we smash em.

You going there to cause trouble? Sounds a bit threatening m8.

That is the idea of a forum. It is an interactive experience. You type your thoughts and another user replies. If you want to only talk to yourself it is fine, I am sure nobody will complain. Maybe you could start an online blog somewhere else?

paultheroyal Comments before the game - help to set the scene...

So what are we singing tonight?

Going Down?

Going Bust?

You can stick your ****ing tennis balls / biscuits up your wotsit?

What else?

Imagine the sheer confusion from half our fanbase if Oxford start singing about biscuits.

Also missed opportunity not calling Club1871 The Biscuit Tin, on account of us being pro biscuits and tinpot.

The bit about football support they haven’t worked out yet is that crowds at clubs go down when the team is not doing so well on the pitch. They can only dream of a 15,000 home crowd so I am not sure why they are wetting themselves about that. They can’t sell out their 12,500 capacity ground when they are near the top of the table.

Already looking forward to our return trip to Munchkin 3 side Farm in February!

A friend of a work colleague is a Barnsley fan and he said that based on our first half against them, he thinks we'll stay up no issue. Was also complimentary about the stadium, which you almost never get anymore so that's nice.

I thought we generally played quite well in that game, was one of our better performances this season

Usual combination of missed chances and some Selles ineptness cost us the game, one we should have won on balance

There's no doubt we have ability, but we also have so many players making mistakes, and that's what's really hurting us.

About every fifth of sixth pass goes astray, and so many players pick wrong options, either in who to pass to, when to pass, or where to be when you don't have the ball.

Oxford dominated in Tuesday night (2nd half) simply due to their off their ball movement, always giving the player with the ball on option. So few of our players do that.

We've been largely static off the ball for years now. One of the reasons we've been relatively easy to play against.

He's got a point. Play like that 1st half every week, take our chances and cut out mistakes and we'll shoot up the table. Easy.

It's partly because we're so slow to pick a pass. No one knows when to move. So they don't, because when they do it never comes and we invariably turn over and they're out of position.

Ejaria was really bad for this. He dwelt on it so much there was no point moving. You'd be on your third attempt before there was a chances he'd play you.

We play our best stuff when it's imstinctive and not planned. Same for almost a decade. But we just have managers who overcomplicate stuff and teach them to slow it down.

Not sure this is particularly true. Movement is fundamental you don’t wait for a ball to be played to move. Opposite is true. We have so little options the ball continually goes backwards/sideways.

You make it sound like there might therefore be a question mark over the competence of the coaching and management.

Well done on missing the point leon.

Which is that if you keep showing movement and not receiving the ball or getting it late so you're offside, you give up moving.

Wind your neck in sonny.

My point was movement creates space especially in the hole between midfield and opposition defence. I see no movement consistently. It’s not people giving up it’s people not moving. They look rigid and drilled. No instinctive play at all.

Not exactly a controversial point.

I know what movement is leon. The post is about why there isn't any. Not that there is or isn't any.

Maybe if you weren't such a prick, and learned to take a point, you'd have got a more patient response. But you're still not listening.

Just trying to have a conversation about football, Ian. Not sure why you’re being so aggressive.
