SHORT AND CURLY I trump Roberts with Winston Bogarde. Reportedly earning £40,000 a week between 2000-2004 whilst sitting on his backside at CheLOLsea.
No Fixed Abodesandman Good to hear that he's persevering despite these set backs. If only some of the other players who are lucky enough to be playing atm would show such a determined attitude to try to play for RFC.
You are kidding?!
Whilst us everyday folk have to pay for gym membership, Jason Roberts gets paid a high sum to use the facilities at Reading fc thanks to you, the fans.
Don't you feel mugged off?

FridaysGhost Nearly back on TV as a pundit one presumes. Still, if the impossible happened and he ever did play for RFC again, he could always trip people with his zimmer frame! We are all so glad we are paying him vast sums to take the piss out of us and the club whilst forging a media career. Viva, the X-factor generation!

The best part is that it winds prats like The Siege up.
Top work Mr Roberts.

No Fixed Abode
Ok, so he's not played for a season and a half.
You carry on praying his wages

All true fans get wound up when we and our club are stitched up - and J. Roberts is not the only one who has ever done that. Still, you showing your true colours as NO TRUE FAN
makes this thread worthwhile. p.s. Most of the best contributors to this site have either been removed or have given up in disgust, however, I'm glad their sense, logic and passion still wind you up more than J. Roberts winds the REAL fans up!

Uke LOL at those who think his wages aren't subsidised by insurances, either taken out by RFC or Roberts himself.
Ultimately you just don't like him having a squad number

AthleticoSpizz You all seem to be authority on his, and Readings current financial arrangement.
So...how much are we supposedly paying him whilst he's on out on the biff?

what answer do you want mate?FridaysGhostAthleticoSpizz so, no answers from you then?
£0.00 - but no answer from you? Explain why you want a defunct, useless, over-age retired player to pick up a large salary(plus extras) from RFC whilst we need all of our money to turn this team into a team who can win things. Thought not!

Uke Do none of you understand contractual obligations?
Do you think they can be broken, just like that? (At no extra cost)
And how much money will we save by "paying up his contract" in full.
Pragmatism says keep until the end of the season

Depends whether he is really contributing anything to the club now. If not, accept that he will never play again at this level and either pay off his contract or claim on the insurance if that is possible.
Looking at our injury list, our medical team and physios have got enough on their hands already, without having to devote valuable resources to what looks to be (and has done for some time) a very lost cause.
