2-0 Ugwu and Tanner. Tanner is going to feature next season. Just have to hope he stays fit, otherwise he could have broken sooner.

Well done Sparta

Tanner misses a penalty after Wolves pull one back. 2-1 HT.

3-1 up U21's cup.

Few questions:

Do/can we field some over-aged players in this?

Where will the semi (LOL) be played? Is there a final on a neutral ground?

How come we're so good?

I've not watched the U21s but it sounds like all focus is on the cup, semi-finals there but the U21s are 2nd from bottom of the league.

Don't think the draw for the semi has been made yet.

Same rules as U21 league, Diakete played against us for QPR for example in this competition (he got bullied by Kuhl).

As we can't get relegated and everyone remembers the cup winners...

Not anymore they are not. 19th out of 22. Only 6 points between us and 10th as well.
Semi is away to Arsenal. Arsenal U21s play at Boreham Wood FC usually.

Don't think we can, and even if we were able to we don't.

Good question, dunno.

We've got a decent 17/18 year old crop coming up through the academy and they're the ones that are making up a decent core of both our U18 and U21 cup side. Plus the likes of Tshibola and Tanner who are (along with Obita) the best homegrown talent we've had since the Gylf/Jem/Henry era.

At the end of the day though, the success of the academy as a whole can be put down to the commitment the club as a whole has put into building it from what was effectively scratch 15 years ago, and the work that individuals such as Rodgers and Dolan have put in along the way.

The final will be a two legged affair, each game at the home of a finalist.
Semi = one leg. Away at Arsenal for us.

Watched a bit of Liverpool U18s v Watford last night and our team will have to be very good to beat them when , I gather, we are due to play them shortly.
In particular a 16 year-old Welsh midfielder (Cooper?) came on as a sub and looked a bit special and the marauding right-back was outstanding.
Anybody know when the game is?
