I saw a related thread on twitter this week which said matches are not allowed to be streamed if they clash with a televised Premier League match which would sound right tonight with Brentford Brighton on TV.

 Thankfully utterly stupid rules like that should disappear if the current proposed TV deal is signed giving the ok to televise games on Saturday afternoons.

Would like to see Ehib getting a loan spell for the second half of the season as from the brief cameo's we've seen this guy looks like he could be a player in the future.
Looking like he could be a third choice striker for next season.

Agree with that. Not quite sure what to make of him at the moment but really like the look of him. He’s big but isn’t a target man, seems to have a trick or two about him but doesn’t seem pacey but does seem to know where the goal is. Both him and Basil Tuma would seem to be the stars currently on the rise while Jahmari Clarke seems to have gone back a step or two.

Anyway if Reading can get just one of them to reach potential at the club I think that’d be the first homegrown striker in over a decade to come through.

Looking down 20 years Reading have been relatively poor at producing strikers, the last to make it through to reasonably regular first team football at the club being Simon Church well over a decade ago. The best striker produced since 2000 though was Simon Cox who managed a career strike rate of approx 1 goal every 4 games but had to leave to finally break through. Other strikers to “make it” (Tyson, Church and Henderson) were around the 1 in 5 range.

You might argue Sam Smith but he never broke into the first team though is now averaging around the same as Simon Cox albeit at a lower level (but then that’s how Simon started).

Biggest miss by the Academy though was Charlie Austin (career strike rate of around a goal every other game) who the club let go for apparently being too small when he was just 15!

Incidentally it was so long ago that Tyson, Henderson, Church and Cox have all now retired from the professional game!

We need to tie Ehib down to a new contract. I can see us losing him in the summer.

Just had a look to see how Dorsett was doing up at Kilmarnock and it seems as if he isn't fancied a great deal at the moment. Only 3 appearances so far this season and hasn't been in the squad/on the bench in recent games.

Surely (if there is an option) we should consider recalling him come January time and try to get him out on loan where he will actually play consistently. He could be a really useful asset for us next season, he just needs a bit more experience.

He got a bad injury almost immediately.

How "bad"? Played his first 2 games, missing for the following 3 (doesn't actually say injured where I'm looking granted he might have been), played an hour then hasn't featured since?

Dorsett played at Rangers then played at home to Celtic and suffered some ligament damage. He recovered after about a month to start v Livingston and played an hour. He may or may not have suffered a reaction to that injury as since then he’s been an unused sub twice - in the defeat at Aberdeen and the draw at St Mirren. Killie’s next game is a visit from Ross County on Saturday.

Fair play. The site I used to check never cited an injury issue, so it just looked suspicious at first, thanks for clearing up.
