Former Royals in FA's 150yr Anniversary Tube Map.

by G'La » 04 Oct 2013 10:10

The FA have released an alternative map of the London Underground listing a host of players in place of station names. Scanning through I noticed 6 former Royals... for a bit of Friday fun, who are they?

I'll start you off with Elm Park...

Can't find him but Les Ferdinand will surely be in there.

Just noticed that all time FA Great Jack Butland is London Bridge. Nothing against the lad but the hype he has achieved from his 25 games at Cheltenham Town is almost starting to deserve his own thread (on general football...)

One of those has taken it to 7 Royals (although some would argue he was a former member of the Biscuitmen).

Appeared as a guest for Reading in a friendly against NZ. It was about 1984. Stu Beavon scored for us but we lost 2-1. Forework display after the match. Martin Peters also guested for Reading.

He's played in the League Cup - I presume that counts (even though this is an FA event)

Nope, the League cup is a Football League competition, so that would explain it.

Peter Bonetti - did he play in a testimonial in the 80's? Maybe Martin Hicks or Chalky White?

Shame that they managed to put all the accents on players' names, but couldn't manage a couple of thorns for Eiður Guðjohnsen.

As for Rooney, I don't recall Rachell Unitt, Faye White, or Hope Powell playing in the League, either :-)
