genome Decent interview with SJM by Dellor after the match today... a brief summary:

- Always on the look for new investors and sounds like something is on the horizon
- Anton still the owner "as such" and he doesn't know when he'll be back
- Confident Anton is committed to RFC and that there is no big problem- There should be funds in January, whether it is Anton's or Sir John's

Reading between the lines Madejski does sound a little uncertain but optimistic, definitely not the shambles some nobbers are making out. We're looking for new investment but I doubt it will mean a change of ownership of the club.

Well it seems then that either Madejski is a massive liar or he is naive and stupid.

I'd say it was every bit the shambles some nobbers made out.

Committed to the long term future of RFC by selling up?

Also those are Genome's summary not SJMs words

What was the actual quote then? If you don't know then don't pretend you do.

the actual quote is that he was not unduly concerned.

Politicians answer, he could still have been concerned. Duly so.

Just to confirm, all this is on the back news from one of Jonny Fordham's 'sources'?

He only gets fed what the club are happy to be known. Just because Zinga is on the way out it doesn't mean there's something to be concerned about. I predict a new investment announcement by this time next week.

What is all the fuss about? We knew AZ was a goner. This is not news! The football club will make an announcement within a week, or so is the rumour, about new ownership/investment, and then you'll all get carried away thinking we're going up inside 18 months.. Some will get swept away with it, as they did with TSI, the others will worry and question absolutely everything because they have to worry and moan about something.. Just sit back and watch it all unfold.

Watts saying that Americans are one of several interested parties.

Hopefully the competition means we'll be able to get someone who actually has some fcuking money this time.

Probably a consortium led by Bernard Madoff.

The first thing an American owner will probably do is rename our franchise as the "Thames Valley Royals" and move us to Slough because it's nearer Heathrow

Would have the advantage that we could continue calling it the Madstad.

You're clutching at straws.

Uke What was the actual quote then? If you don't know then don't pretend you do.

I heard the actual interview myself, as it happens. Madj sounded shifty and uncertain during said interview, the only thing he said with certainty was that AZ was committed to the club.

So - is he naive or a liar? Bit of both, I'd say.

Now being reported in the Post.

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... id-6465788

One would hope we could get an advance payment from a new buyer in order to spend this transfer window. The FPP checks will be likely to take some time, especially if a consortium is the chosen bidder.
