Ian Royal Gunter has actually been surprisingly alright at centreback, so it's an interesting idea popping him in there. And he'll hopefully be more inclined to bring it out a bit when he can, but less inclined to take risks and play silly passes like he can do at full back.

I'd drop Gorkss for him though if it was to be tried.

Ian, I am sorry but you are so wrong about Gunter.
The bloke is frightened of his own shadow, can't tackle and can't head a ball-you might just as well put Alf there.
Just because he once filled in there for Wales and for a few minutes for us last Saturday when we were desperate doesn't make him a centre-back.
The boy is an athlete who is stuck at right-back because he can sprint forward but defensively he is one of the worst in this division and is very fortunate to keep his place in his specialised position let alone be considered to play elsewhere.

Kelly or Baird maybe as a temporary measure but Gunter, no way.

Yep, I thought he looked decent there on Saturday for the limited time it was tried. I respect Vic's reservations, but I don't share the opinion that Gunts can't defend, he gets an unfair press on here imho, and surely can't do any worse than Pearce in the last game. I also think Gorkss has given glimpses of returning to some kind of form and for me he's just about our best defender right now which admittedly isn't saying much.

I thought Pearce was fine bar the calamity.

Gorkss is one of the problems with our attempts to adapt our playing style and whilst we haven't been punished too much for them, I think he makes too many mistakes and is too easily turned or found disappearing out of position. When he isn't hoofing it or doing that though, he has been quite good.

Gunter's impressed me recently with better performances defensively. Still too loose with his passing and a bit too error prone yet. But that's why I was wondering whether he might cut those out a bit better if in the centre rather than at fullback. After you suggested it anyway.

Very harsh on Gorkss who was excellent on Saturday. If Gorkss made Pearce's mistakes he'd be crucified on here and jeered off by the fans.

+1 - This is also my preferred choice.

I feel we need 5 in midfield as teams are getting way too much space in there.

Someone said previously or on a different thread, Guthrie comes very deep, which leaves us short in midfield, so 5 in the middle is a must, especially when you are playing a team playing as well as Leicester are at the moment.

Pog is excellent and can create goal scoring opportunities for himself and others. We know McCleary can score from distance, Obita is showing good promise and Drenthe........ Well Drenthe undoubtedly has talent and I'm sure the more he plays the more it will come, I don't think you can leave him out just because of what he can offer.

Leicester are the second best team in the league after Derby at the moment for my money, and we're playing them at a really bad time. I recon we should play as defensively strong a team as we can muster. We're not going to win this game, and we should frustrate for a goalless draw.

-------------------McCarthy-------------------
Gunter----Gorkss----Pearce----Cummings
------Williams---Guthrie---McAnuff---------

McCleary-----------------------------------HRK
-----------------------Alf---------------------------

Rest Pog, play Alf. If anyone's going to score from nothing after an anonymous game of no service it's him. Plus i think it'd do well to take Pog out of the spotlight right before the window opens.

Although HRK has had a rough game or two, he was very good at getting counter attacks going at the end of the Charlton game. I'd start him over Drenthe, and hoof from the back.

Of course we can win the game-Leicester`s form before the QPR win was no great shakes.i say play Pog and Drenthe.

Jut sayin' that hoof-ball has it's place, and that's when you're up against a superior opponent away from home.

I'll probably get some stick for this but I would drop Guthrie to the bench. In my opinion at the moment he is the cause of a lot of our problems. He comes so deep that we end up being pressured in the wrong places and he slows the tempo down so much that we struggle to get attacks going. Unless we can play him higher up the pitch and get him to play at a higher tempo then we will continue to suffer these dull performances.

I would play McAnuff in his place and leave the rest unchanged.
