Hopefully with our new owners on board they won't now refuse to pay Royston

We need him back in our team

But in our team with our current manager he won't perform anywhere near the level he's performing at with Sheffield Wednesday.

Anyone seriously think NA will have left the club before January? Royston will be back on loan at Wednesday and we'll be playing just as consistently as we are now.

What are Royston's stats like at Wednesday this season?

6(7) - 682 minutes, 1 goal, 0 assists, 1.5 key passes a game, 1.4 crosses a game.

Yay.

Absence appears to make the heart grow fonder. Not in my case. He flattered to deceive here. He appears to be flattering to deceive there. They're welcome to him.

Dependent on how fixtures go from now until January, I'd make a decision on Drenthe.

If we pick up some decent results and are playing well, I'd have him back - Great player to have when you are playing well.
If we don't improve, or stay at the same level - I'd try to ship him out again.

To me, he's a total luxury player which we don't need at the moment - but if teams performances pick up, then he could be a threat.

If we can get Royston off the books and free up some wages for a central defender we should, even if that means shipping him off on loan somewhere and only recovering half of his wages.

Apparently Wednesday are only paying a quarter of his wages, we're picking up the rest

It's better to pay 3/4 of his wages and have him playing elsewhere than pay 4/4 of it and have him doing nothing.

Is he more of a luxury than Blackman or Robson-Kanu?

If we're going to use a winger who doesn't pull their weight defensively, it may as well be Royston.

The thought of Drenthe coming back for Clarke to have a look at him is just another reason for wishing we hadn't sacked Adkins. We don't need any 10-minute performances from an out-of-breath fat man. Wednesday can have him forever.

For a player with a large amount of sub appearances I'm not sure why you would use key passes/crosses "per game" when the stats are available "per 90 minutes".

Drenthe
Key passes per 90 minutes = 2.5
Crosses per 90 minutes = 2.4

Reading player with most key passes per 90 minutes = 2.2
Reading player with most crosses per 90 minutes = 2.4

The sooner we get Royston's 1 free kicked goal every 23 games back into the squad, the better.

Look at his record everywhere he has been. Talented waster who just doesn't want to work hard for the team. He isn't suddenly going to become the wonder winger, smashing in goals from all over just cos he's been on loan at Wednesday for a few weeks.

He's a comedy act, stealing a living.
