Yeah because Bournemouth beating us last night had everything to do with passion and absolutely nothing to do with their pace, skill or tactical awareness.

P!ssed Off Federici

Keown (Two other senior RB's in front of him, not ready)
Hector
Morrison
Obita

McCleary
Tshibola (Only if we're desperate with injuries and if Taylor can't get in why would we put someone who is even more untried in?)
Kuhl (Really like him and think he has the potential to go far and be a future RFC captain. Not ready.)
Taylor
Tanner (Like him as well but again not ready to start against the soon to be Champions just yet.)

Ugwu (No chance.)

Subs:
Sweeney (Defender for an Under 21 side who have kept a grand total of one clean sheet all season. Not ready, Gorkss won't be dropped from around the first team squad altogether.)
Owusu (Bridge back from injury, Obita has played well there for the last four or five months and he's just not ready.)
Fridjonsson (too fragile, not ready.)
L. Kelly (see above.)
Fosu (see above.)
Stacey (see above, when he learns to make the right decisions around the box on a more regular basis he has potential be top notch.)
Cardwell (Not ready, would be bullied all night.)

We are in the play off places as it stands and will still be around them even if results go against us before we play again. Let them get on with their development and the feel good factor that has come from their cup runs rather than setting them up to fall being involved in the mess going on at the moment.

A reluctant 'greed with the Sandmonster. Throwing the younger players in now may well do them more harm than good. Let's just get to the end of the season and then intergrate some of them properly this pre-season (preferably with Dolan as manager...)

Would like to see Tanner on the bench mind, he's the closest to being ready imo.

 at anyone that thinks Kuhl, Tshibola or Taylor could perform any worse in centre midfield than either McAnuff or Obita did last night.

Eh, be careful what you wish for. When we're still in with a shout of the playoffs I'm not sure chucking a bunch of untried youngsters against the champions elect is a good idea.

Fook knows given the injuryshambles we are at the moment.

Preferably it won't involve Gorkss or Bridge playing. Or Obita or McAnuff in central midfield.

We need to have some shape and understanding through our team, get the partnerships going. Obita and McAnuff work on the left, keep them there. McCleary and Gunter have shown the best understanding on the right, even if McCleary hasn't performed recently. Christ, those are the only examples I can think of for partnerships that have worked for more than a couple of games.

What a sad indictment on our players, coaching staff and physios.

----------------------------McCarthy-----------------------------

Gunter----------Pearce----------Morrison----------Bridge

McAnuff-------Leigertwood---------Taylor---------Obita

-----------------Pogrebnyakk-----Le Fondre----------------

Federici, Kelly, Gorkss, Tshibola, Robson-Kanu, Blackman, Drenthe

^ This based on who is currently injured, although i'd hope for at least one of Williams, Hector, Akpan back in.

Guthrie reportedly having a scan doesn't bode well.
Not bother putting McCleary on the bench if he isn't fit.
Make of break for Jake Taylor.

I just hope that NA doesn't repeat the mistakes of the Bournemouth selection. OK, so losing Guthrie was unlucky, but the set up looked extremely lightweight in CM even before that... Given that, picking two luxury players (Alf and Royston) who were always likely to be passengers if we couldn't win enough ball .... was just naive. Especially given that it was Bournemouth who needed to force the pace. We should have packed the midfield with bodies and made it hard for them. Anyway, taking the optimistic view on injuries for Leicester, I'd go:

------------------------------------McCarthy----------------------------------------------
Gunter---------------Pearce-------------------------Hector-----------------------Obita
-----------------------------------Guthrie-------------------------------------------------
------------------Williams------------------------------------Akpan------------------------
McCleary--------------------------------------------------------------------- McAnuff
------------------------------------Pog------------------------------------------------------

I think all of those would put in a shift and play for each other in positions they know, and they would have enough athleticism and physicality to compete effectively. i.e. no half fit returnees, and no crazy taxis like Royston. They can be the subs. Let's say:

Feds, Bridge, Morrison, Ledge, HRK, Blackman, Alf, Drenthe.

Of course, they won't all be fit, but I hope we pick a team that has that sort of balance, with whoever's available.

Bully for you but the club do and we can still get into them. They are also interested in the long term future and development of the youth players which doesn't involve foolishly putting them in the first team match day squad and ruining their development.

Keown: 19
Tshibola: 19
Kuhl: 18
Taylor: 22
Tanner: 19
Ugwu: 20, 21 in a couple of weeks

Stop being such a wuss ffs, they're not oxf*rd kids they're grown adults.
Kuhl "has the potential to go far and be a future RFC captain" but is too fragile to make his debut at 18?

At what age is it acceptable to give a young player their debut then? mid-twenties?

I'd say the best way to introduce younger players is to bring them into a team of established pros in ones or twos so they have the support around them and can be introduced gently. What I gather you're suggesting is just chuck in as much youth as possible right away.

That's a good way to say sink or swim, with the emphasis on sink rather than be supportive and aid development. Look at how it worked for Pearce, Karacan, Siggurdsson, McCarthy, Obita etc. following the steady introduction in ones and twos to an existing senior side.

It's such a stupid suggestion I glossed over it to start with because I assumed it was an attempt at humour. It seems from your staunch defence it was serious. :|
