Goalkeepers
Mikkel Andersen - Leave - Doesnt want to be here anyway
Adam Federici - Leave - Ageing and could demand a decent fee for him

Jon Henly - Keep
Daniel Lincoln - Keep
Alex McCarthy - Keep - Hasn't set the world on fire like he was expected to, but would benefit from staying here for a while longer
Stuart Moore - Keep

Stuart Taylor - Leave - How many games in how many years? Pointless him being here - no match experience

Defenders
Nick Arnold - Keep
Wayne Bridge - Leave - Too injury prone
Jake Cooper - Keep
Shaun Cummings - Maybe - See who else goes first
Kaspars Gorkšs - Leave - Useless not good enough for this division
Shane Griffin - Keep
Chris Gunter - Keep - Underestimated
Michael Hector - Keep
Stephen Kelly - Keep - Should of been given more chance than has been but will probably go
Niall Keown - Keep
Sean Long - Keep
Sean Morrison - Keep

Matt Partridge - Maybe - Wasn't he the one who is up for GBH. If so, don't want scum like this at my club thank you very much
Alex Pearce - Leave - Overpaid. He cares but he isnt class. Liverpool must be thanking their lucky stars
Pierce Sweeney - Keep

Midfielders
Hope Akpan - Leave - Not good enough
Daniel Carriço - Keep - Believe it or not I think hes a quality player if we played to his strengths
Lawson D'Ath - Keep

Royston Drenthe - Leave - Waste of space, cant be doing with his childish games
Ryan Edwards - Keep
Danny Guthrie - Leave - See Drenthe, not the Reading mould
Jem Karacan - Keep
Mikele Leigertwood - Keep
Jobi McAnuff - Keep
Garath McCleary - Keep
Shepherd Murombedzi - Keep
Jordan Obita - Keep

Hal Robson-Kanu - Leave - A donkey
Jake Taylor - Keep
Aaron Tshibola - Keep
Danny Williams - Keep - He is the basis for our team for the next 5 years I would say. Best player in the squad

Attackers
Nick Blackman - Leave - Worst signing the clubs ever made. Not that he don't care, just that he is not very good
Adam Le Fondre - Leave - Overrated. He only plays well in January which is no good as half the season has passed him by since then
Pavel Pogrebnyak - Leave - Actually this is the worst signing and his wages are a burden round the clubs neck. Could be harder to shift than Zigic at Brum tho

Dominic Samuel - Keep - Class Act
Craig Tanner - Keep - Great player, will score goals at this level given the chance
Gozie Ugwu - Keep

PROMOTE: Aaron Kuhl and Jack Stacey

These threads are always good for a laugh, people keeping players who have already left, using incorrect reasons for not keeping players and bugging up players they haven't seen play !

This year you cannot exclude the economics. If we need to raise cash then the most saleable players will go.

Yeah, you don't want people who've had a troubled youth and fragile upbringing........and jail could be on the cards??? Reading FC would never take on a player like that....We don't want another Robin Friday on our hands, do we?

No real point pretending everything's fine and picking who we'd keep. Might as well take the situation for what it is and plan who you would bin to save some wages, and obviously the many pieces of dead wood that need to be moved on.

Bin

Goalkeepers
Mikkel Andersen
Adam Federici
Jon Henly
Alex McCarthy
Stuart Taylor

Defenders
Nick Arnold
Wayne Bridge

Attackers
Nick Blackman
Adam Le Fondre
Pavel Pogrebnyak
Dominic Samuel
Craig Tanner
Gozie Ugwu

Hopefully Adkins is hot on the heels of some decent free transfers, but I feel our activity in the transfer market will be delayed until most of this lot move on and make room for them - i.e. another frustrating summer of missing out on our top targets; top targets from a very small pot available to us.

Goalkeepers
Mikkel Andersen Leave
Adam Federici Leave
Jon Henly Leave
Daniel Lincoln Keep
Alex McCarthy Keep
Stuart Moore Leave
Stuart Taylor Leave

Feds and Andersen are going to want first team football. I'd rather have McCarthy. If we sell him, I'd keep Federici. Lincoln can become second choice.

Defenders
Nick Arnold Keep
Wayne Bridge Keep
Jake Cooper Keep
Shaun Cummings Leave
Kaspars Gorkšs Leave
Shane Griffin Leave
Chris Gunter Keep
Michael Hector Keep
Stephen Kelly Leave
Niall Keown Keep
Sean Long Leave
Sean Morrison Keep
Matt Partridge Leave
Alex Pearce Keep
Pierce Sweeney Keep

Ideally we'll be able to keep Bridge on reduced wages. He is a very good left back.
Cummings, Kelly and Gorkss can all do a job, but I'd rather see young players taking their places.
I can't see Long or Griffin really threatening the first team, would rather give Owusu or Watson a chance.
Partridge can do one.

Midfielders
Hope Akpan Leave
Daniel Carriço Keep (I can dream...)
Lawson D'Ath Keep
Royston Drenthe Keep
Ryan Edwards Leave
Danny Guthrie Keep
Jem Karacan Keep
Mikele Leigertwood Leave
Jobi McAnuff Keep
Garath McCleary Keep
Shepherd Murombedzi Leave
Jordan Obita Keep
Hal Robson-Kanu Keep
Jake Taylor Leave
Aaron Tshibola Keep
Danny Williams Keep

Akpan and Taylor are probably never going to be good enough.
Murombedzi shouldn't have been kept on this long. The same is arguably true of Edwards.
Legs or D'Ath is a tough call. I really like Legs, but I think he should move on rather than fade away here. Give D'Ath a year as our fourth midfielder. I can see him getting overtaken by Tshibola and Kuhl in that year, but I'd still keep him around, he's less of a gamble.

Attackers
Nick Blackman Leave
Adam Le Fondre Keep
Pavel Pogrebnyak Keep
Dominic Samuel Keep
Craig Tanner Keep
Gozie Ugwu Keep

This is an ideal world obviously. I wouldn't mind cashing in on Le Fondre if we signed a cheaper replacement (Sharp?). I doubt Pog will stay. Blackman isn't good enough unfortunately. Not too sure that Ugwu or Samuel will be able to step up, but they'll do as back ups. With Taylor leaving, Tanner will be our best natural attacking midfielder, and will probably be needed when Drenthe plays on the wing.

The future is with a mix of Youngsters and more experienced players. I can't see why everyone wants to get rid of all these players who haven't had a chance in the first team but want to keep the wage drainers who don't perform like Drenthe and Pog

Whereas keep on Jobi as you know what you'll get from him. Same can be said for Legs and Kelly

That said with that team I'd still be expecting top 6 in this league and anything less would be unacceptable. The reason we have an academy is that WE start using players from it. Not flogging anyone who comes decent as soon as another club comes calling as with the Gylfi situation

Get rid of:
McCarthy/Federici - Money and wages
Andersen - Just seems like the right thing to do.
Bridge - Sadly, but was signed on Anton's money which we don't have anymore
Carrico - Sadly, but we could probably get a few quid for him.
Drenthe - Good player but probably on huge wages.
Edwards - Doesn't seem to be cutting it at all.
Ledge - After such a long injury I doubt he'll be the same player he was in 11/12.
HRK - Not good enough this year and we could get a reasonable fee for him.
Pog/Alf - Wages or fee. Either way it's a decent way of getting in a better financial position.

Maybe pile:
Most youngsters - I have no idea how most of them are progressing, I'm sure there will be a fair few releases.
Gorkss - Still think he can do a job here, but he's not getting any younger and at the end of a contract.
Morrison - Not sure he's good enough and we could get a decent fee.
Taylor - It's damning that he's not getting in the team with our injury crisis.
D'ath - Never forced his way in.
McCleary - Might not be our choice. One of our most saleable assets.
Guthrie - See above, someone may come in for him.
Cummings - Not sure if he has a future here.

Keep the rest and loan out a fair few of the youngsters. I'd like to see Ugwu, Tanner, Kuhl and Tshibola integrated into the first team a bit more.

Surprised by the number of people wanting to keep Murombedzi but release Edwards. I believe they're the same age, but Edwards has always kept Shep out of our youth sides, and Shep is basically making up the numbers right now. There's not going to be much point having him around when Stacey and Fosu stop having to juggle playing for both teams.
