Ian Royal Even though Long only had about 7 actual quality months whilst here in his 5(?) years?

True, but he hasn't lost it since then, been a decent Premier League player since he left us.

5 goals in prem. from wing until he got injured.???

Can you name one great player we now have in our team?

Who was our last GREAT player then?

Long, and Sigurdsson before him.

Sounds as if long did well when he came on today but calling him GREAT is a bit premature IMO.

Hoop Blah Kebe our best performer in the Premier League? A player who hardly played and, IIRC, didn't play once for Adkins as we surrendered our Premier League status and caused Adkins to question his commitment and has shown no sign of quality since either.

What is a disaster at the moment is our inability to keep the squad fit and free of injury.

Are you suggesting that Kebe was a GREAT PLAYER?

Excuse while I stitch myself back together.

Yes and I think we had a number of great players in the teams in the past 4/5 years. Just saying apart from Macleery and Macarthy ( who both will probably be off soon) we don't have any!

They aren't great players or even Reading greats. They're decent enough and very good on their day, but great? No chance.

Woodcote Royal Losing away to league leaders is no disgrace but getting hammered 4-0 nil with your best 'keeper and only fit experienced midfielder sat on the bench says everything about where Adkin's priorities lie.

What are his priorities then?

??? Terry Bulivant, didn't he win us promotion? We have to look at where we were . 8th in premiership, just missing out in Europe. Season before last premiership. Now - selling all our best players and thinking survival in the championship would be a result.Thats one hell of a contrast in such a short time. Don't think the others bear any comparison.

Oops sorry that was Ian Branfoot. Yes you are probably right. Anything we say or do will have no effect on what happens. Sometimes its good for the soul to have a rant and a rave. Reading has been my team for 50 years and will continue to be so. Its a bit like the saying ' you can choose your friends but you can't choose your relatives".

I'd assumed paddy was a teen. With the bullivant comment and fing out he's 50+ I'm worried about his faculties.

I will always remember the collective 'WTF??!!' and sharp intake of breath when that particular phrase was uttered. Mind you, true to his words, he was last seen driving off in a black cab. I do wonder sometimes, with the pressers being a bit more professional nowadays, if Bullivant would have given it with his back to the journos, talking over his left shoulder.

No he got us relegated.

Clubs go through ups and downs. We are still doing well given the majority of our history was in the 3rd and 4th tier.

You have Football Manager style expectations. Overachieve to finish 8th in the prem and if you don't make Europa League next season you are sacked.

Idiot.

Aw, remember the days we used to beat teams like Cardiff, QPR, Forest, Swansea, Crystal Palace and Norwich?

Wave, they might turn around and wave back.
