Re: Support for Feds

Nice comments and spot on.

The poor bloke made a mistake which every one of us do every so often , poor Feds just happened to make his mistake in the cruelest way on the biggest stage .

The bloke is a top man and any decent Reading fan will know that and get behind him as one , if he'd not made the wonder save in the second half game would have been over

Ascotexgunner He's been excellent all season. Definitely not to blame. But then again as fans it shows our class over the likes of Arsenal. They wanted they're keepers head on a platter by the sounds of it, they blamed him for our goal yet that took an awkward deflection.

Again, not sure that we can really claim the highground. We've slagged off goalkeepers in the past. If Federici had been as dodgy this season as Szczesny then the reception on here might have been quite different.

Fed has been great all season and has been player of the season by a long way. Yesterday makes no difference to that - we all make mistakes. He and all the players were fantastic yesterday and I was a proud supporter at the end of the game as they genuinely left nothing on the pitch.

It was a great day out and one error from Fed takes nothing away from that. Others made errors too. Pog fluffed a match winning opportunity - as did Williams but I don't blame them either.

And without doubt it was our best ever performance against Arsenal.

This thread is quite heart warming. I'd also like to echo these sentiments. If he hadn't made at least two world class saves during regular time we'd have been long since sunk.

Agreed

I hope this thread ends up forty pages long and puts that despicable "look at me`' other thread into oblivion.

Has kept us in so many games over the many years he's been here, including yesterday, and he made one cock up. He should be more proud of the rest of the game than dwell on that and should be our POTS this year.

No blame from me

Been outstanding this year and I have not been his biggest fan in the past

So I'll put it here too.

If we'd had an average Championship goalkeeper this season we'd be in League 1 next year and wouldn't have past in past the fourth round. Federici has done more for this team and club than any other player this season.

Adam Federici - pride of Reading FC.

Imagine how bad he must feel? Horrible. Such a tragic way to lose. I like the guy but he showed why he won't be a top level goalkeeper. He doesn't deal well with the big high pressure moments. We witnessed that last time we was in the Premier League, he kept costing us before he was dropped for A Mac.

I do hope he bounces back though & it drives him on for another good season next year.

He coped pretty well yesterday with some real high pressure moments. It was a low pressure moment that was the problem.

If only....... that's the past 50 odd years I've spent watching football...... like a manager always says..... now the focus is the nexy one as you cannot afford to dwell on the past. I'll be there on Wednesday night to give Feds a cheer.

Harpers So Solid Crew Since his come and get me season Adam has been immense for Reading, knowing that he will see this i say one thing, Reading and the fans have stood by you Adam, now stand with us. Sign a new contract in the summer, don't take a silly offer and end up up sat on the bench elsewhere. Help us get back to the Prem.

I think if we want him, we'll get him personally. I just can't see Prem teams coming in for him. I suspect if he did move it would be to another championship team that is prepared to splash a bit of cash.

I am absolutely gutted for the guy. He's been great for us this season but having said all that I think we could replace him if we needed to.

But this is not the thread for that so unlucky fella. Hopefully your POTS award will partially make up for yesterday.

I'm far from Fed's biggest fan and i had no intention of voting for him in the PotS award. But he needs to know that no one with an ounce of sense blames him for that goal, that he hasn't let anyone down and he can hold his head high after a good season.

So i just voted for the Aussie dick.

On a weird note, he might settle for a bit less money on the new contract now! Only kidding, top goalie, top bloke.

It's a clear, explicit, unequivocal way of saying we support Feds 100%

What's so wrong with that?
