Top highlights of the 2014-15 season

by janesdaddy » 30 Apr 2015 14:31

We all know that the last nine games have been more dire than usual. Looking on the positive side, what have been the top highlights of the 2014-15 season (other than the performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final, obviously)? Was it the return on Jem Karacan (new contract pending, by the way), seven wins out of 12 immediately after Christmas, an individual's match performance (Feds springs to mind, perhaps), or an individual goal scored?

Ignoring the obvious (FA cup) my highlight was when Adkins got sacked. Absolutely serious.

Bradford at home was enjoyable, best atmosphere we'd had for a while.

Yeh, suppose it would have to be Bradford at home. Genuinely can't think of anything else.

Not a lot rushes to mind.
Picking at the bare bones, I'd say...

- The doubles over Norwich/Ipswich
- Karacan returning
- The U21's possible promotion
- Jamie Mackie
- First team debuts aplenty for lots of the youngsters

In the league, absolutely sweet FA! This has to be in the top 5 worst seasons I've endured in the past 26 years of watching.

Even though we lost, Fulham away was a fun one. Good crowd, good atmosphere, exciting match. Couldn't ask for much more in terms of entertainment.

Fulham at home (3-0). Norwood spraying the ball about. Looked classy. Promotion on the cards.

Binning Adkins, getting to the FA Cup semi.

Can't remember a single other thing of note. The last time I saw us score a league goal at home was on Dec 28th (missed Brighton, Sheff Weds, and Cardiff).

Some good shouts, Norwood's early promise was great, seeing him pinging balls around like he was Pirlo was amazing but that's let down by the fact he hasn't come close to that form lately.

Bradford was great as was Arsenal but you already said that doesn't count!

Even with all that I still can't wait for this season to just end so another +1 for the final whistle at Derby.

Wasn't at the game, but after Wolves away we all seemed pretty upbeat and it felt like we'd turned a corner. We hadn't, obvs, but it was nice at the time.
